19. Here’s a thing. I don’t disagree that there is a problematic element if you start to delve into it, but I also don’t think it has to be as burdensome a quandary as you’re making it.

    Certain assumptions are going to be made about anyone who chooses to do porn. I don’t say it’s right or wrong to make those assumptions and the guesses at people’s motives are as diverse as the people positing them.

    The only thing anyone can do really is accept or reject the story we are told. In the case of the Peter’s twins it is that they have pretty much always been into each other, and they saw an opportunity to get what they wanted by doing adult films together. In doing that they lost the support of their family, something they probably would have lost anyway had they come out as gay.

You have more info on the twins and while I still find it problematic, I am open to the possibility that they may have genuine romantic and sexual attraction towards each other, though as J noted below, that might not be a mentally healthy attraction regardless. It should also be noted in past blogs that their family has pretty much disowned them, and it would be hard to imagine they could accept this relationship. Maybe that’s not a personal loss to them if they weren’t that close to their family, but it’s not the type of thing a family will be likely to recover from. So yes, I think there ARE reprecussions from them participating in an open incestuous relationship, espeically on film. If that makes me a “god” for thinking so, I can live with that 🙂

    As a post script, I should also say that I have the same concerns with lesbian incest or brother/sister incest… or any incest in general. For me, it has to do with the family relationship more, or in addition to, the possibility of creating a child with birth defects.

If, as a society, we consider the matter to be detrimental to us all, then we legislate to protect those who may perhaps not be able to protect themselves. But remember, attitude is evolutionary, and as attitudes change, what was once  deemed wrong or inappropriate becomes acceptable. I don’t need to remind you of many aspects of a gay lifestyle that have previously been deemed unlawful, or at the least unacceptable, but which are now tolerated and sometimes even celebrated. This is believed to be an evolutionary adaptation to prevent inbreeding and the risk of birth defects as also mentioned. Clearly this “repulsion/revulsion” does not ALWAYS happen as is evidenced with the Peters twins. Why it didn’t happen with them may be inexplicable but having seen them interviewed as well as a lot of videos, they are clearly very attracted to each other and good on them for not having to look too far to find love!!

    You are a sexual minority: you were discriminated against legally for centuries in the western world and in some ways continue to be.
