The MTV Movie Awards is a huge bullshit-fest, and a gaudy excuse for inconsequential people to shill their latest products. It’s kind of like Home Shopping Network but with more cocaine consumption. However, a highlight this year was Macklemore & Ryan Lewis’ performance of their latest hit single, “Can’t Hold Us”. I have been on their boat since “Same Love,” their song about gay rights (and accompanying video, which I loved so much that it played on the monitors at my wedding). How refreshing was it to see someone with talent giving it their all and KILLING at that fakery-filled event? Even Samuel L. Jackson was bobbing his head! They didn’t get a Tommy Lee Jones to smile or anything (his Golden Globes puss from this year’s ceremony is legendary) but I bet they could have if he had been there!
Despite Mackelmore’s penchant for goofy fashion, he is a sexy muthatrucka. The pale skin, the freckles, the strong features. Plus, he can rap and doesn’t take himself too seriously. He’s a piece of ASS.
And his producer Ryan Lewis is cute, too. It’s just that Macklemore tends to overshadow him with all the creamy-skinned hotness and tank tops.

haggarty and lewis are brilliant. they are the first unsigned artists to hit #1 on the billboard chart since ’94. being unsigned gives them the ability to write lyrics their way and be as positively politically outspoken as they have been. he has brought rap to the forefront in seattle, brought equal rights to millions of listeners and introduced rap and baseball to each other. brilliant. fucking brilliant. and hot. damn hot.

Macklemore!!!! WOW!! Lewis is cute and all–but in a very, “he’s the cute one” way. But that Macklemore…that voice is like a sex tonic…
