Manhunt Man of The Week: Scorpio28d, A Shy Guy With A Lot To Offer

They say it’s the quiet ones that you always have to watch out for, and scorpio28d is no exception! The self-proclaimed “lover of all things green” is a laid-back guy who prefers a night at home over a night at the club, but that doesn’t mean he’s a shrinking violet (or a late bloomer).

Okay, okay… Enough beating around the bush! Read on and find out about his love of the outdoors, his wild and crazy past, and why an encounter with a porn star ended with him never watching porn again.

Hey there Sporty Spice! How was your summer?

Summer’s been okay. I did some travel to Miami, Chicago and my hometown Richmond, but I had to cut my summer travel plans short due to foot surgery in late July. So I’ve just been doing a lot of grilling and working in my makeshift garden.

Foot surgery — wow. Hope you’re taking it easy! When did you start getting into gardening?

Since I was a kid. I’m originally from Virginia, and my parents always has lots of land and gardens, so I just sort of grew up loving it. As a kid, I always went to the Southern Living garden show with my mom. Fishing, cooking, gardening and working out are the things I find relax me the most.

Just a good ol’ country boy at heart — I like that. When did you make the move up to NYC?

I’ve been in NYC for eleven years as of this year. I moved here back in 2003 for college at Parsons, and after I graduated, I just decided to stay. I got some great jobs here, and I love the vibe, the excitement and the energy of this city. I recently moved to Brooklyn a few years ago and love it here. I gave up all those crazy nights of partying for a quiet existence of homemade jams, gardening and grilling. I know I’m lame!

Homemade jams and gardening — +100 hipster points for you! You did mention on your profile that you’re a lover of all things green, right?

Yup — plants everywhere at my house and outdoors. Smokey the Bear always said keep it green!

There’s a 420 joke in there somewhere, but I’ll leave it up to the readers to decipher that. How’s Manhunt been like for you since joining?

I have to admit that out of all the sites out there, I think Manhunt has the best quality and caliber of guys.

I first got on Manhunt like ten years ago when I was in college, and I have been on and off it throughout the years. I’ve met some really incredible and sexy guys – not just as hookups, but some great friends as well. I do like the old version better than the new platform, but it’s still an awesome website that I’ve used even while traveling all over. It just seems to have the sexiest and most normal guys no matter where you go.

That’s a pretty glowing endorsement! What have been some of your best experiences?

Well, there’s been a lot of them. I’m pretty coy about stuff like that. Let’s just say I’ve met some great buds, some great fuck buds and some good NSA hookups. Ha!

Oh, come on… Coy is for kittens. We want to hear the good stuff!

I don’t really know: good sex, good energy, good vibes, good peeps.

In my past — like way, way, way, in the past — I was a rolling stone. Pretty much on top of the stone. I’ve visited Steamworks, The Crew Club, bought a few escorts and went on a few dates with a porn star. He was a really, really awesome and insanely nice guy, but after that, I never watched porn again.

But now, I’m pretty vanilla. I really believe that sex with me is just that great that you don’t need any toys or slings or fists. Awesome carnal man sex with me and my cock is perfect just as it is.

Never watched porn again? Go on…

Well those times are in the past — like a past life. Like so far away I can’t remember any spicy details. There were lots of drugs, music, days that became nights and nights that became days.

I can remember leaving straight from Alegria, running back to my apartment to do an Aveda Tourmaline facial, then straight to take a sociology final which I received an A- on. So that’s a funny thing from my past — taking this test in huge Chanel sunglasses, clenching my teeth, and listening to Danny Tenaglia in my head.  But that all changed after college; I found myself, and I found who I really was.

So this porn star was a guy that I was obsessed with, and I found out he was on Rentboy.  I contacted him through there, and we ended up chatting and scheduling something. A week before we were supposed to meet, I met the man of all men and told the porn star I really wanted to chill with this new guy.

Fast forward a year — me and the guy had broken up, and the porn star had reached out to me to see how I had been. Long story short, I ran into him at a club, and we totally hit it off. We’ve hooked up a few times when he was in town and still chit-chat sometimes. He a really smart and nice guy. I totally would have dated him, but now he lives in Rhode Island.

The reason I don’t watch porn anymore is because he explained to me what it’s all about, and he was very experienced in the industry. There are a lot of cuts and retakes, positions held so they can get a certain angle, and if the cum shots aren’t that great, then they shoot it a few days later when there can be more intensity. Me being an idealist, I thought it was a lot more fluid and organic. Like two guys that are attracted to each other and the camera rolls as they let it play out.

scorpio28d

Yeah, porn is totally a production. Even some of the amateur stuff! I guess once you realize that, it does take some of the excitement out of it. You say that you really found who you really were. What advice would you give to the men of Manhunt out there?

When I say I found myself, what I mean is that I think as gay guys we assume characteristics or caricatures of what we think might be cool or acceptable — well, at least I did. It’s like I needed to dress a certain way, go to this circuit party or club… And I just realized that if you don’t like me as a shy and pretty introverted guy that really enjoys just chilling at home and cooking with my pets, then that’s cool and I’m okay with it.

Sounds good — I think we can wrap things up here. Thanks again so much for talking with us!

Thank you.
