Nope, this isn’t a Let’s Get Kinky post about plushophilia! It’s just the surprisingly awesome music video for Leah LaBelle‘s “Lolita”. If that name’s sounding awfully familiar to you, then you might remember Ms. LaBelle from the third season of American Idol, where she performed alongside future stars Fantasia Barrino and Jennifer Hudson. She was eliminated during the semi-finals, but after getting a few gigs as a back-up singer for Jordin Sparks and the Jonas Brothers, she was eventually signed in a joint deal with mega-producers L.A. Reid, Jermaine Dupri and Pharrell Williams‘.
Long story short? They’re still trying to make her happen.
Although previous single “Sexify” was charming enough, it failed to gain much traction with the public, peaking at a measly #89 on the US R&B charts. The follow-up “Lolita” probably won’t do much better, but nevertheless, it’s funky, carefree and perfect for the soon-to-come summer season… Also, there are shirtless boys and NAKED BEARS in the music video! Teehee. Teehee. Teehee.
