Iran Coverage Vs. Michael Jackson

Iranian Unrest, GraphJam, Michael Jackson

This is so wrong. But as cliche as it sounds, it’s also so right. While I agree that Michael Jackson‘s death was tragic, it’s amazing how it’s completely overshadowed other news such as the situation in Iran. Why is this one man somehow considered more important than the lives and well-being of so many others? I’m not trying to be disrespectful! It’s just a little… odd?

  1. I’m sorry but the “man” has been vilified and objectified his last 20 years? Now that he’s dead he’s being glorified for his music and now a national treasure???? Gimmee a break!! I hope someone has the balls to display his corpse with that of the elephant man skeleton and other freak show oddities.

  2. yes, Gino, maybe not in the guido hood you came from but in some cultures we respect the dead and remember them for their good. MJ’s good, greatness that is, was his music… not his weirdness.

  3. Yet your still talking about it? Then do a fucking post about Iran if it bothers you so much?

  4. The media focused on MJ because that’s what Chairman O wants. He doesn’t want you drones in the media to pick on his Muslim brothers. And, as usual, you blame anybody but yourselves for being such sheepish clowns!

  5. I always thought it was strange that the attention turned to MJ right when it was possible for us to encourage an uprising for the people of Iran. I’m sad and sorry for them. Maybe this could be seen as a new angle in the Michael Jackson conspiracy theory.

  6. Because in my opinion, most Americans don’t really care about what goes on outside the U.S. unless it directly affects us. Ask anyone who’s the PM of Canada or the U.K. and most americans would be clueless, yet the whole world knows our presidents, and can name any celebrity on the spot. Were just a self-absorbed nation. That’s my two cents atleast.

  7. He gave the world his best, and got kicked in the teeth. characteristic of all great people. No one is saying he is more important of than the men and women fighting for our country. if people would research and find out why millions if not a billion love michael so much. He made an impact in the world, not just his music. people get educated.
