“Aww” Moment: Australia’s “Big Brother” Winner Proposes To His BF On Live Television

Australian lawmakers smacked down a proposal to lift the ban on same-sex marriage in Australia back in September. This setback obviously doesn’t mean fuck-all to Australian Big Brother winner Benjamin Norris.

During the live broadcast of the finale on Australia’s Channel 9, Norris got down on bended knee and popped the question to his boyfriend Ben Williams. The audience went crazy, and 1.5 million Australian viewers got to see real love up close.

As of right now, Norris and Williams can only declare their love for each other in a civil union. Whoever’s in charge down there needs to take a look here in the US at Maryland, Maine, and Washington. Time for a change, Aussies.

  1. I’ve been having a completely shitty day…but MAN that put a huge smile on my face (and brought a tear to my eye!) THANK YOU!!!!

  2. Our parliament has an atheist PM who is against gay marriage and the opposition leader who is Catholic and is strongly against it….. We recently had a bill appear before our parliament which was shot down 70-40 roughly

  4. Yeah, kind of sucks for us Aussies.
Our PM’s logic is that because she has chosen not to marry, not everyone else needs the right to be either. Not sure she knows the meaning of the word ‘choice’, but she is happy to have a lesbian as a minister in her cabinet, go figure?
The opposition leader is even worse, apart from being an idiot he’s a misogynist and catholic who will never support gey marriage. Sadly he has a gay sister who will never get his support.
An overwhelming majority of Aussies are in favour of gay marriage, its just our politicans are listening way too much to bigots and a religious minority 🙁
It’ll happen, we just need to bide our time for a little longer.
