There are so many things that are wrong with Shontelle's "Licky (Under The Covers)". Let's start with the horrendously misused sample of Larry Tee and Princess Superstar's original "Licky" track. Then let's move on to how certain shots from the music video are directly stolen from UK pop star Jamelia's "Beware of The Dog".
And while we're discussing all of this, can we address how hard she's riding Rihanna's cock? They're both imports from Barbados, so comparisons between the two pop singers are inevitable. But by stealing RiRi's old style, it becomes wildly obvious that she's desperate to be her. This might as well be a sequel to "S.O.S." or "Don't Stop The Music".
Despite all of these flaws, there are so many things that are right with "Licky". It's a song about licking that name-drops Twinkies. Need I say more? This jam is expertly crafted for slutting it up on the dance floor. Clubs should kick people out if they're not simulating sex when they hear this.
"Licky (Under The Covers)" is technically the second US single from the singer's upcoming sophomore album Licky, preceded by the February release of "Impossible". So why are we hearing it now? Because it's the worldwide single, silly! Yeah, I don't get the record industry either…

Don’t get me wrong I get that sex sells especially in the pop music industry. However when you’ve got everyone trying to sell sex it turns into a battle of who can be the sluttiest, filthiest most outrageous whore.
