Aural Only: Garçon Garçon

It’s been a while since we first introduced you to Australian electro-pop duo Garçon Garçon, and it looks like their official debut single is finally here! “Stay In Touch” made its premiere earlier this week, much to the delight of the gay blogosphere and beyond.

If you were digging their demos for “Maybe Tonight” and “Take Me Out”, then we have some extremely good news for you. The new track marches forward with the same ’80s-influenced sound, all while taking a few cues from current pop and electronic music.

And did we mention the lyrics are really sad? We’re not sure whether we want to shake our asses or check into the heartbreak hotel. Perhaps the best description yet? “It’s like stretching a Smiths track across a Casio keyboard–sad disco at its finest!” Our thoughts exactly, with extra emphasis on “finest”! Because, seriously, these boys are foooooooine.

  1. Seriously? Did you listen to the song and pay attention to the words???

This is a incredible breakup song.

  2. I’m totally feeling this it reminds of the new wave of the 80″s thumbs up and not too mention they are hotttttttttttttt!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  3. I love the eye candy, and I’m sure the music is considered good. But I cannot get into this type of music. It’s the same with Petshop Boys (*gasp* I know, right?).
