Andrew Doriane’s “Woody” Is Obviously The Greatest Song of 2014

Looking beyond the songs forced into our eardrums by the industry, there were a lot of very, very good songs released in 2014. We didn’t write about most of them on Manhunt Daily, because some time last year, I realized that most of you would rather gawk at double penetration than read what I think about Taylor Swift or a highly underrated talent like Rudi Douglas.

If you are, however, curious about what tickled my fancy over the past year, then you can listen to, follow and/or judgmentally critique my “Best Songs of 2014” playlist on Spotify. My fellow Manhunt Daily blogger, Lawrence, also rounded up his top one-hundred songs here.

(See last year’s list here.)

I’ll admit, I may have jumped the gun putting the final touches on that list, since I didn’t anticipate that the genius behind viral sensations “She’s Like Gay“, “My Leather Pipe” and “Juman” would begin promoting his next big hit. That’s right, my friends! Pop artist and international sex symbol, Andrew Doriane, has unveiled his latest masterpiece “Woody”, and as you might suspect, it’s everything the world needed and more.

Woody

“Woody” is a track that, on the surface, comes off as slightly absurd, but if you dig a little deeper and carefully listen to the lyrics, you might understand why one YouTube commenter described it as a “new world gay anthem”. I got the impression it was about two men forced into the closet by their country’s anti-gay laws. They escape to the woods to find freedom from their oppressors in a discreet, romantic rendezvous, dreaming of the day they’ll be able to live as “one family”. Even if I’m misinterpreting this, there’s still a beauty and sincerity to the overall sentiment presented by Doriane. He should be applauded, once more, for his outstanding work.

For those who are simply dying to know—and I know there are likely a ton of you out there—“Woody” is available for purchase through iTunes and Amazon. Make sure to grab it now and put it on a holiday playlist for the most special man (or woman) in your life!
