Gremlins 3 Confirmed At Warner Bros With Chris Columbus And Steven Spielberg Returning

What do you want for Christmas in 2027? The correct answer is: a mogwai. Just, be sure to follow those rules. Because it looks like, at long last, the Gremlins will be returning to the big screen for a long-awaited third entry, with heavy-hitter talent on board. Across the years, there have been several reports of Gremlins 3, which have never come to fruition: but this latest development has come with the greenlight from Warner Bros Discovery boss David Zaslav, indicating a solid likelihood of fresh festive mayhem.

As reported by THR, the third Gremlins film will be produced and directed by Chris Columbus – who penned the original film for director Joe Dante. Steven Spielberg will be an executive producer too via Amblin. Columbus is coming off the back of his Netflix adaptation of The Thursday Murder Club, which was also an Amblin production. The script is being penned by Zach Lipovsky and Adam B. Stein, who wrote Final Destination: Bloodlines. A date has been set for Gremlins 3, expected to arrive in cinemas (perhaps even crashing a screening of Snow White) from 19 November 2027.
