The Postal Service: “A Tattered Line of String”

I’ve already discussed my personal connection to The Postal Service‘s 2003 album Give Up here on Manhunt Daily, so I won’t waste either of our time rehashing the tales of steamy make-out sessions or impromptu dance parties in dorm room hallways… After all, (most of) you don’t come here to read about my feelings on music, and when it comes to music, I don’t really know all that much about technical stuff—I just have a lot of feelings.

So how do I feel about “A Tattered Line of String”, one of two new songs appearing on the 10th anniversary deluxe edition of Give Up?

I’m pretty into it, I guess. The past ten years have brought us so many imitators (Hey Owl City!) and so many lackluster offerings from the group themselves (Hey “Be Still My Heart“!). If you’re a fan, it’s almost impossible to not get a little joy out of hearing The Postal Service sounding like, well, The Postal Service.

Thoughts? Feelings? Share with the class.
