Speaking of versatility, pop music chameleon Sky Ferreira switched up her style yet again for her upcoming EP Ghost. The lead single “Everything Is Embarrassing”, co-produced by Dev Hynes and Ariel Rechtshaid, is a huge departure from ’90s alt-rock throwback “Red Lips” or quirky-dance jam “99 Tears”.
The track, instead, channels the same laid-back soul vibe as UK songstress Jessie Ware‘s critically-acclaimed Devotion, all whilst infusing it with an extra dash of the 1980s. It works surprisingly well! Though, by now, should we really be surprised that Ferreira can do absolutely anything and pull it off?

Hey, I sort of like this, in spite of the monotonous clap track and the overkill on reverb.
Girl mumbling sweetly… overpowered by annoying computerized drumming sound!
Couldn’t understand a word she was ‘singing’!
