Rapper Eminem will be rereleasing his latest album Relapse today, and he's been making gay media headlines for the wordplay he used on one of his newer songs. The project's fourth track, "Elevator", finds Mr. Marshall Mathers calling out openly gay celebrities Lance Bass, Adam Lambert and Clay Aiken.
The second verse begins: "Sorry Lance, Mr. Lambert and Aiken ain't gonna make it, They get so mad, when I call them both fake, It's all these fucking voices in my head I can't take it…" When you listen to the song, the words "fake" and "it" run together to create the sounds of a certain six-letter F-word. It's kind of like Britney Spears' "If U Seek Amy", but more hateful.
On one hand, this isn't really a big deal. Mathers has openly said this word in the past, without even trying to cloak it. On the other hand, he's still a homophobic asshole. There's no arguing on that matter, so let's move on to a different topic… Even though he's taken certain liberties in his artistic expression, would you still sleep with Eminem?
