Weekly Top Ten: Two Familiar Faces

Lady Gaga, Beyonce, Shakira, Aqua, Florence + The Machine, Robbie Williams, Janet Jackson, Adam Lambert, Kelis, Toni Braxton, music, dance, gay, charts, weekly top ten, voting, votes

It's time for another edition of Manhunt Daily's Weekly Top Ten, and guess who's sitting at the top of the charts this time around? If you answered the one and only "Lady Gaga", then you are absolutely correct. Since taking back the number one spot from Robbie Williams last week, she's kept it up for another round. And who doesn't like someone who can keep it up for another round?

Of course, some people can't be as lucky as Gaga. Ellie Goulding managed to stick around for a couple of weeks, but now we have no other choice but to put her to rest. Also, Shakira didn't have much success with two singles on the charts, so one of them didn't last in the end. Both of these gals' jams are joined in the scrap heap by David Guetta and Lady Antebellum

If you're new to the Weekly Top Ten, be prepared to juggle seventeen dildos for our initiation ceremony. Or we could just explain the rules to you. Each week you'll be presented with ten songs. You get to vote for up to three moving to the next week. From those results, we'll take the five tunes with the highest percentages, a song we saved and four other contributions. These selections will make up the following week's charts

So what do you have to do to get your favorite song on the list? It may or may not involve bad puns about "stuffing", but you could be boring and just suggest it in the comments. We listen to nearly every song you recommend, and if it get us stroking ourselves in a musical frenzy… you might see it here next week!

To check out the charts and vote, follow the JUMP:

  1. Lady Gaga – Bad Romance (LW – 1): Now that The Fame: Monster is officially in stores, I can't imagine Lady Gaga dropping out of the top spot. From start to finish, the entire album is pretty damn fantastic. Plus, this is still the best pop music video that I've seen all year. Hands down.
  2. Beyonce f/ Lady Gaga – Video Phone (Remix) (LW – 7): Thanks to the glorious behind-the-scenes clip from this video's set, we're really starting to like this one. It stormed into the top five last week due to all the hype, but can it keep up its momentum this time around?
  3. Shakira – Did It Again (LW – 2): If there's one thing I'm thankful for, it's that you guys wound up putting this song in the top five instead of that horrid Timbaland-produced track. I guess the bed-dancing probably helped? This song seriously makes me jizz so hard.
  4. Aqua – My Mamma Said (LW – 5): I must have missed the memo that Aqua's officially back. We were surprised enough that this managed to stay on the charts for the past couple of weeks, but we're even more surprised to see it climbing steadily. Could this be winter's breakthrough hit?
  5. Florence + The Machine – You've Got The Love (LW – 3): It's amazing that this Wild Card selection has kept going for so long, even if it's steadily declining since its peak at the number two spot. Through all of this, Florence Welch still has one of the best voices on here.
  6. Robbie Williams – Bodies (LW – 4): Oh no, Robbie is starting to slip out! Can you help put him back in? Geez, that's been one of the saddest innuendos I've ever had to write. "Bodies" is being saved for the first time, and it'd be a tragedy to see it go after its been so good to us.
  7. Janet Jackson – Make Me (RETURN): With a video premiere and a rockin' performance at the American Music Awards in the mix, it only seemed fair that we'd give this jam another chance. We already told you that Janet's back. Now you need to let us know if she should be back on the charts.
  8. Adam Lambert – For Your Entertainment (RETURN): After doing an on-stage oral sex simulation at the AMAs, Adam's performance on ABC's Good Morning America was cancelled. Considering that this inspired a mini Twitter revolution, we figured we'd give this one a second chance too.
  9. Kelis – Acapella (DEBUT): Was anyone else as excited by this track as I was? It's great to see Kelis back on the music scene. Let's just hope her new album will shut up all those assholes who keep wondering when she'll release another "Milkshake".
  10. Toni Braxton f/ Trey Songz – Yesterday (DEBUT): A solid effort from Braxton, but is it solid enough to make it onto the charts? It's up against some pretty upbeat tunes, so it's impossible to say if it'll break in.

  1. I have to agree, Toni’s “Yesterday” is hands down one of the best ballads to come out in 2009. I hope it shoots to the top of this list at least, I’m surprised it’s not getting much radio play

  2. ugh, please, get Lady Gaga off this list. And Toni Braxton. Crap, crap, and more crap.
Ellie Goulding is gone? SHUT CHO MOUTH AND SAY IT AIN’T SO.
Florence + the Machine should be #1. End of story. (I’ll keep preaching it until the end of time.)

  3. Toni, Adam, and Robbie. Fosho!
Have you already had that KimWilde song with Fibes called “Run To You”? Probably too old at this point. It’s a great throwback song for her.
