Weekly Top Ten: Time For Telephone To Shine

gay, music, charts, countdown, votes, voting, pop, dance, Sade, Lady Gaga, Alicia Keys, Beyonce, Rihanna, Ke$ha, Shakira, Kerli, Lolene, Hole

BOOM! The music video for Lady Gaga's "Telephone" has finally been released, and it's here to take over Manhunt Daily's Weekly Top Ten. Can it get enough votes to defeat current chart-topper Sade? It's impossible to say at the moment, but you have an entire week to hit the polls and get it to the number one spot.

Of course, the number one spot isn't everything. Taio Cruz may currently have Billboard's top single, but he couldn't keep it up on our countdown. He's joined in the loser's circle by Evanescence, Goldfrapp and Pixie Lott, as well as Wild Card rejects B.o.B., Monica and We Are Scientists.

If you're a Weekly Top Ten virgin, spread your ass cheeks and prepare yourself for some big fat… rules. Each week you'll be presented with ten songs. You get to vote for up to three that you'd like to see move on to the next week. From those results, we'll take the five tunes with the highest percentages, a song we saved and four other contributions. These selections will make up the following week's charts.

Wishing there was a "none of the above" option? Well, quit your bitching and tell us what you want to see on the charts by leaving a suggestion in the comments. We listen to nearly every song you recommend, and we think it'll have a chance… you might see it here next time around!

To check out the charts and vote, follow the JUMP:

  1. Sade – Soldier of Love (LW – 1): After a neck-and-neck race, Sade defeated Lady Gaga for the number one spot for the second week in a row. Will she be as lucky this time around, now that "Telephone" is in the mix? We're not holding our breath, but we wish her much success in the weeks to come!
  2. Lady Gaga – Bad Romance (LW – 3): There's a chance that "Bad Romance" will start to slip again with our latest addition, but we've seen Gaga pull off crazier things on our charts. Remember when "LoveGame" and "Paparazzi" were flip-fucking back and forth for several weeks? At this rate, you can expect to see a Gaga-free countdown by, um, never.
  3. Alicia Keys – Try Sleeping With A Broken Heart (LW – 4): Even though Alicia bombed with her first single "Doesn't Mean Anything", she's hanging in there with this mid-tempo jam. Will it be able to stick around until the premiere of her Beyonce collaboration "Put It In A Love Song"? We'll see!
  4. Rihanna – Rude Boy (LW – 6): It's official! Rihanna has climbed to number four on the Billboard charts, making "Rude Boy" the biggest hit from Rated R. If her airplay continues to grow and digital downloads remain consistent, she may have another number one hit on her hands! But can she hit number one on our charts? You'll have to vote a lot "Hard"-er to get her there.
  5. Ke$ha f/ 3OH!3 – Blah Blah Blah (LW – 2): (Insert something negative that won't stop you from voting for this song.)
  6. Shakira – Gypsy/Gitana (LW – 5): Say it ain't so, Shakira! Even a half-naked Rafael Nadal wasn't enough to keep her in the top five, so we had to save her this week. Perhaps the Freemasons remix will give her an extra push to stay in the game.
  7. Lady Gaga f/ Beyonce – Telephone (DEBUT): Is there any doubt about where we'll be seeing this song next week? If "Telephone" doesn't make it to the number one spot, I'm going to be absolutely shocked. Watch your back, Sade! Gaga's been a bad girl, and she's coming to get revenge on you for taking her spot.
  8. Kerli – Tea Party (WILD CARD): You wouldn't believe the amount of times I've watched this video. This song is somewhere between awful and awesome. It's like Peaches got a goth makeover courtesy of Tim Burton. Why am I so fascinated by this bitch?
  9. Lolene – Rich (Fake It 'Til You Make It) (DEBUT): Since Lolene debuted to mix reactions on Manhunt Daily, we're curious to see how she'll perform on the charts. Maybe she's kind of like Ke$ha, in the sense that her haters appear to me more vocal than her supporters.
  10. Hole – Skinny Little Bitch (DEBUT): Courtney Love may be a departure from the usual sounds you hear in these parts, but we can't get over how excited we are about her comeback. Just wait until David LaChappelle turns out a video for this one!

  1. fuck no. why alicia releasing that stupid song with beyonce….
she has so much better songs on the album.

  2. Shakira, Rihanna and Gaga/Beyonce got my votes this week. Still not very convinced by the “Telephone” video, but the song is great.
And since Ke$ha is on her way out and Taio Cruz already left the chart, how ’bout recommending their new collaboration “Dirty Picture” for the Wild Card? Just a thought.

  3. I’m not crazy about any of these songs…
The list is seeming kinda tired 🙁
    How about adding:
Feel It – Three 6 mafia w/ Sean Kingston
Work – Ciara w/ Missy Elliot
    Shots – LMFAO

  4. I really wish that company in Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind really existed so I could get Ke$ha entirely removed from my mind!
