Weekly Top Ten: Pop Diva Warfare

Pink, music, gay, charts, voting, weekly top ten, vote, choose, Lady Gaga, Sade, Rihanna, Alicia Keys, Mariah Carey, Nicki Minaj, Janelle Monae, Big Boi, Selena Gomez, Black Eyed Peas, Leona Lewis

We have a new number one song on Manhunt Daily's Weekly Top Ten charts. No, you didn't read that incorrectly. Lady Gaga's "Bad Romance" has bowed out to make room for pop music's favorite underdog, as Pink storms to the top with her non-single track "Glitter In The Air".

On a less fortunate note, we have to say goodbye to Lady Antebellum, David Guetta, Utada and Robbie Williams, as we make room for some new entries on the charts. Melanie Fiona and Bitch both made an effort to become one of those new entries during our Wild Card round, but neither had enough oomph to make it on such competitive grounds.

If you're a Weekly Top Ten virgin, hold this 9-Function vibrator while I explain the rules to you. Each week you'll be presented with ten songs. You get to vote for up to three that you'd like to see move on to the next week. From those results, we'll take the five tunes with the highest percentages, a song we saved and four other contributions. These selections will make up the following week's charts.

So how do you get your favorite song on the list? You could try using the aforementioned vibrator on my ass, but you might prefer leaving your suggestion in the comments section. We listen to nearly every song you recommend, and if it gets our asses in the air like we just don't care… you might see it here next time around!

To check out the charts and vote, follow the JUMP:

  1. Pink – Glitter In The Air (LW – 2): How do you get to the top of Manhunt Daily's Weekly Top Ten? If your name's not Lady Gaga, all you have to do is spin mid-air in a near-naked bodysuit while soaking wet and singing live to a packed audience. Congratulations to Pink on making it to the top!
  2. Lady Gaga – Bad Romance (LW – 1): Remember when I said that the only person who can dethrone Lady Gaga is herself? Looks like I was wrong. It's been a long run of consecutive weeks at the number one spot, so I can't say I'm too sad for her. Perhaps her exposed vagina will get her back to the top. Or maybe it'll just cause her to slip faster!
  3. Sade – Soldier of Love (LW – 3): Ms. Adu stays strong in the number three spot with this tale of marching on after a love gone wrong. After ten years of leaving us without her beautiful alto crooning, it makes sense that you guys are holding on to this one. But does she still have a chance of hitting number one?
  4. Rihanna – Rude Boy (LW – 7): To make up for the darker, harder releases from her latest album, RiRi's turned out a jam that'll get your hips gyrating in the grand tradition of "Don't Stop The Music" and "S.O.S." Am I the only one who thinks of hot gay cowboys when she says "giddy up"?
  5. Alicia Keys – Try Sleeping With A Broken Heart (LW – 4): Between Sade and this, I'm starting to believe that you guys are going soft on me. Have a lot of you had your hearts broken recently? Or do you just have a thing for incredible female vocalists?
  6. Mariah Carey f/ Nicki Minaj – Up Out My Face (Remix) (LW – 5): While Mariah's fans were able to get her a decent debut with this jam, they seem to be losing interest with every week that passes. She's gradually been slipping off the charts, and today she's only here because we saved her. Will she make it through this, or is this imperfect angel falling from the sky?
  7. Janelle Monae f/ Big Boi – Tightrope (WILD CARD): So maybe I'm a spiteful bastard. Even though Monáe only came in second place during the Wild Card round, the winning selection was heinous enough for me to throw it in last place and rank her higher. That'll teach you for liking music that I don't! Well, not really, but I had the sudden urge for some instigation.
  8. Selena Gomez & The Scene – Naturally (DEBUT): Is it a coincidence that a totally gay dance mix of this song was released prior to the upcoming pride season? Methinks not. I definitely think this is Selena's subtle way of saying that she's down with us, but it may take some time before we fall into the Disney starlet's trap and indulge in this guilty pleasure.
  9. Black Eyed Peas – Imma Be (DEBUT): Imma be hoping this doesn't last much longer. Imma be hating on the Peas much stronger. Imma be up in the club. Imma be slapping the DJ if he plays this… I think I've made my point. I really hate this fucking song, but to each his own!
  10. Leona Lewis – I Got You (WILD CARD): Speaking of songs I hate, this one really makes me want to rip Leona Lewis' face off. Let's just hope I'm sexy when I get angry? Apparently some of you like this, considering that it took in the highest number of votes in the Wild Card round.

  1. still voting for alicia’s gorgeous song
u dont need to have ur heart broken to truly appreciate the beauty of this song.
also voting for pink, just cos she replaced gaga.

  2. I’ll go with Pixie Lott’s “Gravity”. Nice song and also one of the best videos I have seen in a while. Maybe she can make it to the Wild Card at least.

  3. and I will be the first one to agree that I wish rihanna would release something as fun as SOS or don’t stop the music.
Rude Boy does not even come close. Rated R is a huge disappointment. 🙁

  4. Wow! For the first time in a LONG time, there were more than three songs I could vote for. I’m excited!! As much as I’d love to knock a vote to BEP or Selena (she’s a million times less annoying – at least for now – than Miley Cyrus), I’ve got to stick with Alicia & Sade representing R&B music on the Weekly Top 10. And I’ve got to stay with Mimi for my third vote. I think I’m in love with Nicki Minaj…in a totally non-heterosexual way. Ick! I wish Sade had been the one to dethrone Gaga from the top spot. 🙁

  5. The only song on here I would actually listen to is Imma Be, sometimes a fun song is really all you need. So Imma be hoping it moves up the charts.
And Rude boy is nothing like SOS, its still boring and kind of dark. Not a fan of her latest CD.

  6. I HATE Got You too! I was so angry when they decided to release that over Outta My Head. Got You is honestly the worst song Leona has recorded. I hope it charts horribly.

  7. I hate Rihanna’s new album so much. I think she got a lot of sympathy votes for it, but it’s just no good. But oh well. She’s gone all artsy, singing crazy songs like “Rock Star” & “Fire Bomb” :/ I also hate BEP with a passion. My friends think I have horrible taste in music for not liking them, but whatever. And I haven’t really heard Sade, I don’t like Mariah Carey’s new song nor am I a fan of Alicia Keys. I might secretly like Selena Gomez’s song tho..
