Weekly Top Ten: Back With A Vengeance

music, charts, weekly top ten, gay, Lady Gaga, Janet Jackson, Shakira, Ke$ha, Sade, Aqua, Rihanna, Dangerous Muse, Britney Spears, Alexandra Burke, voting

Some familiar faces are popping into today's edition of Manhunt Daily's Weekly Top Ten. You may have thought you've seen the last of Rihanna's "Hard" and Britney's "3", but each song has earned a place back on the charts. Also, Alexandra Burke will be slipping back in with her new single, after failing to make an impact with "Bad Boys". And do I even need to mention that Lady Gaga's still holding strong at the top?

But not everyone has Gaga's luck. After managing to stay on the charts much longer than I expected, Florence + The Machine have finally retired with "You've Got The Love". She's joined by some pretty good company in the loser's circle, including Mary J. Blige, Mariah Carey and Kid Cudi. I'm especially sad to see Mary leaving us, but at least she got a chance. Usher, Leona Lewis and Iyaz didn't even make it to the charts, as they were trampled in the Wild Card round.

If you're new to the Weekly Top Ten, I'll try my best to explain the rules, but it's going to be difficult with this dick in my mouth. Each week you'll be presented with ten songs. You get to vote for up to three moving to the next week. From those results, we'll take the five tunes with the highest percentages, a song we saved and four other contributions. These selections will make up the following week's charts.

So who do you have to screw to get your favorite song on the list? No one! How are you going to get on Santa's "nice" list by being so naughty? ::wink wink:: Feel free to leave a comment with your suggestion. We listen to nearly every song you recommend, and if it makes our nights a little less silent… you might see it here next week!

IMPORTANT NOTE: Due to the holiday season, the cut-off for this week's voting will be Tuesday, December 22nd at 11:00AM ET. There will not be a Wild Card round, so be sure to submit plenty of suggestions! Otherwise you'll have to deal with my selections. Could you imagine the horror in that?

To check out the charts and vote, follow the JUMP:

  1. Lady Gaga – Bad Romance (LW – 1): This is Andy's favorite song right now, and you like Andy, right? If you don't keep this song at the number one spot, he may break down and cry. Or he might throw things at me. It's impossible to say.
  2. Janet Jackson – Make Me (LW – 2): Janet's latest single may not be making much of an impact in the mainstream, but she's working it out on the Weekly Top Ten! The only thing stopping her from hitting the number one spot is the unstoppable Gaga. Is there any way that "Make Me" could dethrone "Bad Romance"?
  3. Shakira – Did It Again (LW – 4): Some day, I'm going to throw out my back trying to recreate the dance from this video. Shakira is one of the best dancers out there, and it probably helps that she recorded an awesome song to dance to!
  4. Ke$ha – Tik Tok (LW – 3): As I listened to clips of Ke$ha's upcoming album on iTunes, I started to like her a little less. Some people have deemed her the "new Lady Gaga", and I'm really skeptical of that designation. With that said, "Tik Tok" still makes me want to throw my hands in the air.
  5. Sade – Soldier of Love (LW – 7): Surprise! After nearly ten years of abandoning, Sade returns and rocks the hell out of our charts. Was this just a fluke, or will Ms. Adu and her crew keep inching closer and closer to the top spot?
  6. Aqua – My Mamma Said (LW – 5): Aqua was moving along quite nicely for a while, but they've been gradually slipping in the past couple of weeks. Can they make a comeback? Or is it just time to say goodbye?
  7. Rihanna f/ Young Jeezy – Hard (RETURN): No matter what you try to tell me, I'm not going to stop trying to make the new Rihanna happen. This song is the jam, and she's looking fierce as fuck in the video. Not to mention that I get excited every time she asks, "Where the bloggers at?" It's so glad to hear Rihanna inquiring about my location.
  8. Dangerous Muse – I Want It All (WILD CARD): I'm not sure if Dangerous Muse made it onto here because their new song's really good or because they look really good without their shirts on. Either way, they're here. They're almost queer. And it's yet to be seen if they're here to stay.
  9. Britney Spears – 3 (RETURN): Thanks to the new director's cut of Britney's music video for "3", we've seen the light and want to give the song a second chance. We also really like threesomes, so it just makes sense.
  10. Alexandra Burke – Broken Heels (DEBUT): If I were a drag queen, I would totally choreograph a dance to this. In fact, I might just choreograph a dance to this alone in my bedroom. Does that make me the gayest human being alive? Well, I have my moments…

  1. Since you are in Gaga mode, why not include her new single “Telephone” featuring Beyonce. At least is much better than that horrible “Videophone”.

  2. Telephone hasn’t been officially released as a single yet, it will be released in January. Neither Telephone nor Videophone are very amazing. I personally think that was a bad choice for the next single single.
Anyways, this is the first week I wanted to vote for more than three songs. I went with Bad Romance, TiK ToK and Hard. Though I also wanted for I Want It All and Did It Again.
