Vote For The Weekly Top Ten Wild Card

Wildcard-19

Another week, another chance for you to influence our Weekly Top Ten charts. We've selected three of the final selections for the countdown, but we need a little assistance in filling the final slot. Yes, I am aware that I just said "filling the final slot". I'll be patiently waiting over here for someone to blurt out the obligatory "that's what (s)he said".

This round includes recent releases from Kanye West, Passion Pit, Lady Antebellum and Vampire Weekend. It also involves Jake Gyllenhaal taking his clothes off. Though I'd like to assume that this would be enough to satisfy you, there's a chance that you might not be into any of these choices. Rather than complaining that we don't have a "none of the above" button, leave a comment with a suggestion for next week. We'll be sure to take it into consideration!

UPDATE: The poll to vote has now been added. Sorry about that!

———————————————————————————

Kanye West – Coldest Winter: I'm baffled that people aren't over the whole Taylor Swift drama. As lame as it was for Kanye to run his mouth off, it seems like it only benefited her career in the long haul. Even so, most of you would still rather sleep with a racist douchebag over this guy. Does your bias extend to his music? Check out his extremely cinematic video for "Coldest Winter". Some of you will be glad to know that he doesn't actually appear in it.

———————————————————————————

Passion Pit – Little Secrets: Insane falsetto? Check. Cute dorky indie dudes? Check. A beat you can dance to spastically? Double check. This one's been kicking around for a while now, but it's just received a brand new video. Though it happens to be one of my favorite songs from the last couple of years, I can understand that it's not everyone's cup of tea.

———————————————————————————

Lady Antebellum – American Honey: Another beautiful song from country's darling MMF trio! Pink has proven with "Glitter In The Air" that you don't need a dance beat to top our charts, and these three have previously had success with their last single "Need You Now". Can they do it again?

———————————————————————————

Vampire Weekend – Giving Up The Gun: Jake Gyllenhaal playing tennis in tiny shorts. That's all you really need to know about this song's video. I suppose it also features cameos by Joe Jonas, Lil Jon and RZA of Wu-Tang. Oh, and did you hear that the band's keyboardist Rostam Batmanglij loves penises? I'd totally hit that.

  1. Yeah, I’m surprised people aren’t over the whole K. West/ T. Swift thing either. People need to learn how to move on. That being said, I like his music, and although not a “club banga” this song is a pretty cool song to chill to.
As for the Vampire Weekend song…It was alright. Didn’t really get the video, but didn’t stop me from LOVING it! Lil John giving tennis tips, hahaha!

  2. Suggestion for next week: Hunx and his Punx – they’re basically a 60s girl group fronted by a hot gay dude, and their album ‘gay singles’ is out at the beginning of march!

  3. Love Vampire Weekend and Passion Pit (Sleepyhead and Til Kingdom Come, hollaaa!) I just don’t listen to Kanye anymore b/c on top of the Taylor thing, he came to my university a couple of years back and was Douche Bigalow incarnate. Plus his songs always just talk about how great he is.

  4. What happened to Pixie Lott’s “Gravity”. That song deserves to be here more than any of the crap that is competing this week. No vote from me this time around.

  5. So…Taylor Swift just came out with a new video for her song “Fearless.” Can we get that included for next week? Since you completely bypassed her song, “Fifteen”…and she did pretty well on this summer’s chart…just sayin’…

  6. I liked Kanye’s video that was great. I just find it funny how quickly people got over Mayer’s comments and Kanye will go his grave being hated for taking the mike from Swift.

  7. Evanescence released a new song, Together Again – loves it.. And being a B-side of their previous album, it’s like #30 on iTunes which is cool so yay!!
Not everyone’s cup of tea but it;s really haunting and cool, was written for the Narnia movie.
