Remember the hotel in New York that pretty much encouraged guests to strip down and fuck in front of the floor-to-ceiling windows? Well, it's apparently only encouraged if you're a generically attractive individual engaging in completely vanilla sex. Long story short, The Standard Hotel has ousted planned attendees of the West Village Leather and Bear Street Fair from their W. 13th Street location because they don't feel the event "fits the image of the hotel".
As you might have guessed guess, the event's executive director Robert Valin (pictured above) isn't too happy about this development. Paired with some other drama with the Mayor's Office, the fair is now in danger of not happening. When The Villager asked Valin if him and his leather loving pals would like to punish hotel owner Andre Balazs, he said, “I think we’d like to do a lot more to Andre Balazs at this point. I think a St. Andrew’s cross would be involved.” Balazs better watch his back! There's nothing more ferocious than angry bears who are hungry for… revenge.
