The Nightmare On Elm Street Remake Actually Might Not Suck

Michael Bay, Kellan Lutz, shirtless, Nightmare on Elm Street, remake, film, movies, horror

I probably shouldn't say this, but I've never been a big fan of Michael Bay's directorial efforts. You couldn't pay me to sit through Armageddon a second time, and the only reason I'm going to see Transformers is to dream about jizzing on Shia LeBeouf's face. Needless to say, I really can't say shit about this man's ability to get people filling theater seats.

When I saw Mr. Bay's name attached to the upcoming Nightmare On Elm Street remake, I cringed a little. And then I was relieved to discover that he's only filling the role of producer. The trailer looks pretty promising, so is there a possibility that this movie won't suck? I'm not placing any bets, but at least I'll rest at night knowing that Kellan Lutz will probably be shirtless in it.

  1. Brock, I think it’s trying to be like The Dark Night in depicting burns “more realistically” or something.

  2. It’s a movie about a man who comes back from the dead and kills children in their sleep…why do the burns need to be more realistic?
I’m not auguring or anything, however they should have kept Freddy’s face the same you don’t see them changing Jason’s mask.
Was that even a boiler room?

  3. No,it’ll be better,Jackie Earle Hailey can at least act.So he might kick ass. He’s growing up to be a good actor. From Bad News Bears to the child molester in that Kate Winslett movie,to Rorscharch(!spellcheck please!)in Watchmen,he’s good at adding depth to repugnant characters.

  4. Don’t forget Katie Cassidy (harper’s Island, Supernatural). Should be a good movie. Now if someone could redo chucky! lol.

  5. UGH! This sucks. I loved Robert Englund and in my book he’s the only Freddy, but so help me god if this remake sucks , bang, zoom, straight to the moon!

  6. This looks awesome as hell. And it seems like they are staying true to the original based on some of the short clips in the trailer.
Most notably, the creepiest scene in the original movie seems to be intact in the new one, when the girl is flung around the room while her boyfriend watches helplessly as she’s cut by Freddy’s invisible hand.
