The Locker Room: Sam Hynd

photo

Sam Hynd is probably the coolest big brother in the world. The gold medalist Paralympian took fourth place in the SM8 200 metres individual medley at this year’s games. This allowed his 17-year-old brother Oliver (who is as cute as heck is but 17, and even we have morals) to take the gold! Obviously, he didn’t throw the race just to let little bro win (although if he did, remember we questioned it here first at Manhunt Daily – “Your Source For In-Depth Sports Reporting”).  But it’s pretty cool how he celebrated with him and didn’t become a “jelis h8er” as the tweens put it.

Well, that’s as far as we know.  Maybe he was aggravated at being beaten by his baby brother and gave him a Speedo wedgie back in the locker room.

Sam has muscular dystrophy and club feet. For the readers thinking “well, it’s not like it’s the Olympics…”, shut it. IT’S HARDER. Plus, he’s hot. He’s got my vote for whatever he chooses to run for in the future.

  1. Indeed, J. Harvey. God forbid considering that 17 year olds are anything but innocent babies to whom the word ‘sex’ must never be mentioned, under pain of severe trauma on their part. Or God forbid believing that some laws regarding sexual activity – such as those that put 17 year olds on the same footing as 7 year olds regarding emotional maturity – are stupid regardless of being the law, just as the founders of the gay rights movement knew and fought against. You don’t have ‘morals’, you’re just a PC comformist.

Back on topic… every single one of these athletes is a hero. Try imagining yourself as a handicapped person, to whom even regular, day to day activity is a challenge, and picture what these people have gone through to not only essentially surpass that, but probably also be in better shape than most of us ‘normal’ people. Kudos to them.

  3. And 14 in Portugal, and 13 in Spain, and 12 in some states of Mexico, and 21 in the Muslim world. The variability alone shows why it’s essentially a BS concept – applying one size fits all judgement on cases that are necessarily variable.
