Susan Boyle Breaks Records

Susan Boyle

Scottish Youtube sensation Susan Boyle recently put out her first album, and it's selling like hot cakes! I thought she would do well but not this well… she's actually breaking records.

In the UK, she has the fastest selling debut of all time! She even cracked the American charts hugely, selling 700,000 copies of I Dreamed A Dream. That makes it the most successful debut for a female artist since 2002.

Not too shabby for someone noone knew or cared about just a few months ago. Good for her! Anyone plan on buying this CD?

  1. HELL NO I’m not gonna buy this. The woman can’t even sing that great. She’s okay but not amazing. Had that voice come out of a gorgeous 20-yr-old nothing great would have happened for her. The only reason she got any recognition at all is because noone expected an ugly-ass old woman like her to be able to sing at all. Not trying to be mean. I’m just telling the truth!

  2. not since 2002 dewitt, it’s fasters selling DEBUT album by a female artist of ALL times (since they started tracking sales to be more precise)
the fastest selling album of by a female artist still belongs to Britney for 1.3 million copies of Oops I did it again in 2000.

  3. I agree with Andy Bearden, although I do think the “ugly-ass old woman” part is rather harsh.
I’m not buying it. I don’t particularly like her voice, nor do I like the style of music she sings. Good on her for being successful, but I’ll pass on this one.

  4. dont shortchange her — she sold 701,000
    ha
    adam lambert who?
he got beaten by a frumpy English woman (#1) and a blind dude (Bocelli, #2)

  5. Bought it the first day it came out. Beautiful voice, beautiful soul. Go back and watch the YouTube clip again. The one bright spot in an otherwise dull year!

  6. I bought it, and on the CD she sings not only Broadway, but also Spiritual, Rolling Stones, Beatles and Madonna.
I’m sorry to say, but I’d rather hear of someone that is the ‘underdog’ than hearing some of the shi– stuff that has been coming out recently (ie: Lady Gaga). I saw her perform on Leno and was like, What the Heck.
