Sucking Dick For Art’s Sake?

Jeremy Lucido, Starrfucker, dick, cock, Project Blowjob, art

Here's an art project we can get behind! Jeremy Lucido–a porn blogger and Randy Blue production who we may or may not have mentioned a few times–performed an interesting experiment for the latest edition of THE BEEF ISSUE. It involved a bunch of guys sucking his dick.

"The series is an accurate representation of the men looking to participate in the Art world using their cock sucking talents," Lucido says in his opening statement. "I simply receive oral sex and snap a few photos to document it. I see this process as the actual project; as if this was a performance art piece and the resulting collection of photographs are simply the documentation of the piece."

It seems like just yesterday that I was tweeting about my desire to suck this man's dick. Had I known that I could do it for the sake of art, I would have hopped on that opportunity in an instant! But let's return to more important topics. What do you think of "Project Blowjob"? Can it be considered art?

  1. …I guess it’s one of those “in the eye of the beholder” situations, lol!
Oddly enough, I could see that collage of cocksuckers hanging in a gallery somewhere!

  2. i definetly dont think this is art, im a young guy who likes a hot man as much as the next person, but there is noithing artistic about this, it isnt a unique idea, there is nothing diffucult about it and its not special in any way, i think if anyone in the world can do it with a camera phone in there basement, it shouldnt be considered art, its just another guy getting his dick sucked.

  3. I believe EVERYTHING can in some way be interpreted as “Art”…This included. The term “Art” has become so broad, that in really can encompass just about ANYTHING. Great Post!!! 😀

  4. At first I thought about a scientific study to find out if there is a “type” that gives the best head. But I guess “best head” is also in the eye of the beholder.

  5. I think a better way to go about this is to say that anything CAN BE or BECOME art, rather than say that anything IS art….
what defines art are two things: context and intention.
the same images in a profile context would not be art, because the purpose of the profile would not be one for art. now these images in a blog entry such as this would be art because this entry is about art actually.
the same thing goes for intention. this porn actor wants this stuff to be art, so it is art. if he intended for it to be porn (a different purpose) then it would be porn…
now it is important to consider that what defines something as art does not necessarily qualify it. what I mean is that, saying something is art is not the same as saying something is good art. art can still be bad art, even if it fits a context and intention for art…
Warhol is always a good example of art’s transformative powers…. using everyday objects and media content, he recontextualized them in order to become art, to put forth a concept he aimed to address. whether his work is great or horrible is open for debate….. but not whether it is art……
to go further, imagine you walk into a gallery or museum and you see a room filled with pillows on shelves, and in this space people can passively interact/enjoy these objects….. now imagine the same pillows at Bed Bath & Beyond. their purpose is to serve as samples for consumption…
same materials, different context, different intention/purpose….

  6. i agree with michael, i don’t care if you wanna hang that shit in MoMa, just give me that cock, damn.

  7. btw, I do not find these images very interesting as art… I think it is a weak art piece….
perhaps seeing them in person in a gallery, with different scale, larger quantity, etc, the effect might be different… so I’d almost qualify it as bad art (though I do not know much about it)…
outside the art context, I think that the pics r pretty hot… what a great cock!…
ow, if somehow this guy could combine this paradox in the art experience (so that I am simultaneously aroused by the images and engaged to them as aesthetic objects), then maybe I’d enjoy this much more as “art: 😉

  8. It looks like the majority of the shots are of the same guy sucking his dick – the guy with the goatee. Big deal…

  9. NOT art! The argument that if it’s intended as art then it’s art is rediculous! The two year old intends for his/her drawing to be art. But it isn’t! And neither is this.

  10. i think it has to be art like blockeduser said. how can we go about judging it in our own perceptions when his perception is the one we must go about understanding… mmmmm even if it looks like porn. Then i ask, what is drawings of naked men?

  11. Art really is in the eye of the beholder… Maybe if there had been different colours of if the pictures had been transformed into a painting or something, but not too sure about this…

  12. TAM, it might be a ridiculous argument, but it is one that is widely accepted… this is not something I came up with on my own..
if a 2 year old intend on what they make being art, then they r halfway there, they need the context (which a refrigerator is not)… if their kindergarden puts on an art exhibit, then it is….
again, the art might be bad, but it becomes art…..
remember, Picasso’s goal was to be able to go back to that same stage, to that of a child drawing, unfiltered…..

  13. Blah! Dick shots don’t do much for me. Had we seen more of Jeremy than just his dick, then yeah, maybe
Why doesn’t he do a scene on RB?

  14. I actually had a conversation with Jeremy about this “idea” for an art project a long time ago,he started it in COLLEGE as an idea…and at the time, even HE said he thought it was juvenile and a “tired” concept, and he put it away for years…so i don’t know what changed since then for him, other then a need to show off,but the facts are the same…its a sad reflection of what the “artist” thinks is a worthwhile endeavor;namely that sex sells, even if its sex that the artist himself isn’t willing to pay for….and not much more then a simple excuse to show off the myriad of men willing to suck his dick, without any “connection”…So just call it what it is,Jeremy…attention seeking masked as social commentary….simple as that.
