Sneak Peek At Cher and Christina Aguilera’s “Burlesque”

Some sneak peeks of the musical starring Cher and Christina Aguilera have hit the internet this week. The movie, Burlesque, only comes out in November but they’re starting to leak some material early.

You’d think this would be a gay man’s wet dream, but I’m somehow underwhelmed. That’s just my opinion though, check out the clips and let me know if you plan on seeing this. It reminded me of Showgirls a little bit, so maybe we’ll get to see some Aguilera titty at least?

  1. Does anyone else think Cher looks like Michael Jackson in a wig in that first photo?

I love her, but by god she’s not even looking plastic anymore, she’s starting to look rubber…

  2. This movie looks so good… its refreshing to see real talent on display. Perhaps you should put your Kesha and Brit-Brit cds down and take a listen to what REAL divas sound like.

  3. Yeh, Cher does look like Michael Jackson…too much plastic surgery, and her acting in that preview looks pretty lame too…but oh man! When Christina opens her mouth and hits a note or starts singing “It Must Be Love” in the second clip, I get fuckin’ goosebumps and chills. Her talent is astounding, and I can’t wait to see this film. Period!

  4. I still think that’s one of the weirdest pairings ever. But it features out god Cher, so I’ll watch

  5. Her version of this song is breath taking. I love Etta James’ version, but something about this one was just outstanding. Might I add, she looks completely adorable.

  6. Maybe I’m getting too old, but am I the only one who remembers what a great actress Cher is?!?! Maybe, you all need to watch Silkwood (her first nomination—Supporting Role)and Moonstruck (her win as Best Actress along with Olympia Dukakis in a Supporting Role) again! Despite Cher’s fashion choices and plastic surgery practices, she is a DIVA with a capital “D!”
This looks like a Christina vehicle, so I hope the director reins in her exaggerated acting—it’s not a feature length music video!
@Andy, the clip looks more like Chicago rather than Showgirls, but yeah, I’m kind of excited. Hehe

  7. I too am looking forward to it.It looks like ShowGirls AND Chicagi, ladies,so settle down. And yes,Cher is still a talent, she’s come a loooong way from ‘I Got You Babe’.As for Xtina, she was nurtured by Disney,so she’ll do OK.Hope they got Bob Mackie costumes(and Stanley Tucci too?he’s the new Hector Elizondo….Google it,bitches.lol)

  8. This movie has the potential to be just as great as Chicago was AND as completely over-the-top campy & ridiculous (while actually trying to take itself seriously) as Showgirls was. Either way, it’s going to be a must-see!

I remember how great of an actress Cher is. Of course, that was when she still had her real face. But I’m sure she’s still got it! 🙂 And Christina… Dear God that girl puts so many of today’s “hot” female vocalists to shame! Hot mess of a current album not withstanding, she should consistently be in the Weekly Top Ten based on her talent alone. I’m a fan, so I’m going to watch it, regardless. But it’ll be interesting to see if she can act at all.

  9. The talk here has been all about Cher’s acting. You’re forgetting, people, she actually has a pretty good voice also. Once she got away from Sonny and started picking her own songs, she soared. Can she still hold her own at her age with Xtina? Dunno, but will damn sure be going to see this film, you betcha booties!

  10. Well, if it is the new “Showgirls” it has to have all the idiotic plot twists of that popcorn piece. Most expensive bad movie ever made! But I have to admit, its a guilty pleasure, especially to hear Elizabeth Berkley say “Do you like it, its Ver-sayes?”

  11. The difference between this and Showgirls, Andy, is that Cher and Christina actually have talent unlike Elizabeth Berkley. Can’t wait!
