Scissor Sisters Switch It Up With “Shady Love”

Scissor Sisters are back with a new single (“Shady Love”), a new contributor (hot young rapper Azealia Banks aka “Krystal Pepsy”) and a new sound. Unfortunately, Jake Shears (he of the fantastic Nasty Pig jockstrap pics), Ana Matronic and (most importantly) Babydaddy are nowhere to be found in this video! It’s a cute concept. However, they should take note that there is very little wrong with the usual Jake Shears- gyrating-in-a-skintight-or-barely-there stage costume.

What do you think of “Shady Love”? Watch after the break.

  1. Disappointing.  Where are the Scissor Sisters?  This just sounds like a generic rap record that could have been done by a hundred different “artists”.  I would not buy it.

  2. Wait, you listed their individual names and left out Del Marquis and his adorable sexiness?  Really?  That’s alright, you must not have ever actually seen what he looks like and I will wait while you do an image search.

Alrighty then?  Done?  Good.  I can only hope that will avert such oversights in the future.

  3. also disappointed. This doesn’t have their awesome iconic disco throwback feel. it just feels like a bad record.

  4. i generally don’t like collaborations.  i really, really love the scissor sisters and this kind of reminds me of a b-side.  collaborations just make me feel like they are trying to attract a different crowd and make some extra money.  which is fine to do but they usually don’t fulfill my musical needs.

their demo, first album and it’s b-sides were great.  the last two albums weren’t as good as a whole, though there were a few high points.

i hope their next venture really steps it up!
