Ever wondered about the shape of your "tool"? I mean your cock of course, but tool might actually be a better description as a new scientific article delves into the odd shape of the sex organ we've all come to love and cherish.

The main point of research has been the mushroom shaped glans (aka the head) that is so unique, even when compared to our closest animal relatives. The human penis is also much larger than animals comparable in size. The new theory involves vagina, so brace yourselves...

According to evolutionary scientist Gordon Gallup, the glans has a ridge where it meets the shaft for a very specific purpose--to "scoop" out semen in the vagina that was placed there by another man. Obviously evolution didn't expect condoms or monogamy to come into the picture!

This may seem like a stretch, but Gallup performed many experiments to prove his theory, which you can read about here.

Female Only Ant Species Discovered

In a discovery that should scare every man alive, one species of ant were able to rid themselves completely of their male counterparts. The South American Mycocepurus smithii ant reproduces by cloning the queen, and only female specimens of the species have ever been found.

The main benefit to asexual reproduction? It removes the stress of finding a mate! I bet some of you guys wouldn't mind doing the same... except the opposite, you know what I'm saying right?

Rotten Egg Smell Can Have Viagra-Like Effect

Of all things that turn you on and result in an instant hard-on, would you ever list the smell of rotten eggs as one of them? Hopefully the answer to that is an emphatic "NO!" But new studies show that gases released from rotting eggs can actually increase your stamina.

The gas is called hydrogen sulphide, and is also released by men right before sex. So where is this all leading? To more drugs of course! Pharmaceutical companies are hoping to harness the strength of the gas to come up with a super-Viagra, hopefully while sparing us the stench.

A Pill to Manipulate Your Love Life?

You can take a pill to lower your blood pressure, stay awake, pay attention, get an erection, and alleviate depression. But as of yet, there's nothing you can take for a turbulent love life. Maybe that will change in the near future.

Larry Young, a neuroscientist studying monogamous voles (cousins to the mouse), hypothesized that love can be boiled down to pure biochemistry, and as this science becomes better understood, we could see pharmaceuticals that allow us to manipulate our love lives.

Yound said, "...Our sexuality has evolved to stimulate the oxytocin system which helps create bonds," and if oxytocin could be altered in humans, it could change our desire for monogamy.

The theory goes likes this: if you popped a pill that suppressed oxytocin, you wouldn't still be lovesick over that guy you hooked up with last Fourth of July, and if oxytocin could be artificially stimulated, it could help rekindle the waning flame between you and your partner of 15 years.

It's all fun and a bit silly to ponder love potions, but I wonder if an oxytocin elevator in the wrong hands would be nothing more than a 21st century date rape drug.

Artist Wants an Eye Cam

A San Francisco-based artist, who lost an eye in a car accident, wants a webcam eyeball.

She made a challenge to the technorati on her blog to create an "eye cam" that dilates naturally with changes in light, and allows her to zoom and focus by blinking.

"There have been all sorts of cyborgs in science fiction for a long time, and I'm sort of a sci-fi geek," she said. "With the advancement of technology, I thought, 'Why not?'"

Doesn't it sound like a segue into a new reality series? The screen would go black when she closes her eyes to kiss someone...

Meet Jules, Androgynous Life-Like Robot

This is Jules, branded as the world's most life-like robot. His incredibly life-like facial expressions come as a result of electronic motors in his skin, which responds to and mimics actual human faces.

Jules is part of the 'Human-Robot Interaction' project, headed by David Hanson and was devised at the Bristol Robotics Laboratory.

This is a big step forward, and these are probably the robots we'll be running from in 50 years!
