Thanks to Idolator, I’m popping a major club-boner for Swedish DJ duo Rebecca & Fiona. The retro, campy, sci-fi vibe of their music video for “Union” sold me from the beginning, but it was the music that got me hitting the repeat button five (or seventeen) times. I honestly can’t explain why this appeals to me so much! They spend the majority of the track sing-talking in unison, and when they’re not doing that, it’s just your standard EDM fodder blaring through your headphones and melting your brain.
And yet it’s so fucking good.
I’m in the process of catching up on the pair’s limited discography with the 2011 album I Love You, Man. While I’m busy with that, you should also check out their previous single “Taken Over”. It’s not extraordinarily different in the aural sense, but who the fuck cares? Those beats will make you dance, no matter how hard you try to resist. (Eep, that sounds vaguely like dance-rape. Sorry.)
