It’s amazing to see the emotions here. LOL I was raised as Catholic and I certainly am not offended by his wearing a rosary. I doubt that he had even the remotest idea that someone would take offense at his choice of accessories. For all anyone knows, he may wear it as an expression of faith in the same way as someone else may wear a miraculous medal or a scapula. They’re not beads dude, a rosary is an article of high theological significance in reverence to Jesus’ mother Mary. Anyway, what are gay Catholics then? What’s a true Catholic? So many people who are not spiritual nor faithful or follow any religion are such experts on the subject. And I’m no expert in things Catholic, Lord knows I’m not the picture of the faithful but I try to be better person than I was yesterday. So a person who is Catholic who turns out or happens to be gay doesn’t get to be Catholic if they want to belong to that faith community? They have to resign? And if a belief is ancient, it makes is less important or significant or even credible? No no no. Yes the church says homosexuality is disordered but it is nevertheless compassionate to all mankind, who all sin – gay or straight. So while the church who as an institution is far from perfect as am I, it doesn’t take away what I get from my faith and doesn’t give license to others to desicrate a religious article.
