P!nk: “Blow Me (One Last Kiss)”

P!nk‘s lead singles are almost never as good as the real meat of her albums. Alas, for every “Stupid Girls”, “So What” or “Get the Party Started” we’re forced to endure, we’re gifted with true gems like “Glitter In The Air”, “Who Knew” and pretty much anything on Missundaztood that wasn’t “Get This Party Started”.

“Blow Me (One Last Kiss)”, the first offering from P!nk’s sixth studio album The Truth About Love, is nowhere near as offensively grating as its predecessors. That said, it’s lacking in that very specific raw, emotional quality we’ve all come to love from P!nk songs. This sounds like a track she made with the sole purpose of pleasing her record label and snatching another hit.

Not that there’s anything wrong with that! A chick needs to pay her bills.

I’m going to push aside my lack of enthusiasm for “Blow Me (One Last Kiss)” and remain excited for whatever else P!nk has in store for us… Even if it’s killing me that I have to use that exclamation point every time I write about her. ::sigh:: What do y’all think of this song?

  1. the B-side of “Blow Me” is pretty good in my opinion-“The King is Dead But The Queen is Alive”

  2. I’m only so-so as a P!nk fan, but this song has been stuck in my head for 2 wks with no signs of going anywhere. I’ve even found myself singing it without realizing it.

  3. get this party started is one of Pink’s all time best tracks… typical of you

  4. This is pretty good, but I don’t think this song nor the album it comes from is going to bump Fun’s album Some Nights from it’s current rotation in my house; I think my roommates will kill me if they have to listen to it again, but I just can’t get enough. Also Pink’s album Funhouse is her best.

  5. P!nk is one of my singers of the last 20 yrs. Most of her song’s are really deep and I can’t wait to hear the rest of her songs from this album!!

  6. It’d be better if maybe it was Joe Jonas singing “Blow Me.”  Just a mediocre song/record from Pink, IMO.

  7. Excellent video, and she looks like she’s having a ball. The song, for me, is above average, but not great.

And I though “Stupid Girls” was a great song. Anything that directs scorn to catty, snobby, copycat bitches is alright in my book. I also liked “So What” because the lyrics were fun and actually sounded like something that real people would say, instead of being written by a committee. That’s one thing I’ve always appreciated about P!nk, is that she may sound quite “pop-y” at times, but it’s always with a good healthy dose of realism.

  8. This sounds like it was written at the same time as “So What” when she broke up with Corey, and got picked up off the discard pile of tracks for the last album rather than pen something new.
Glad she did, because it’s catchy and fun, and I don’t mind it one bit!

  9. Went to see  Lenny Kravitz(whom i love) a few years ago and Pink opened for him.  Her performance blew him away, now i am a total fan, she is edgy, unapologetic, and out there.  Especially love Just like a pill, and Who knew
