Perez Hilton Now De Facto Representative of Gay Marriage?

Perez Hilton represented the gay community on Larry King Live last night and sparred off against the more accomplished Dennis Prager on the topic of gay marriage.

I know that Perez Hilton was the Judge who asked Miss California about gay marriage, but why does that entitle him to represent the gay community on Larry King? Dennis Prager has much more experience in debating these things, and while Perez came of fine, I'd prefer to have someone who knows the topic well represent the gay community.

It's like having Wendy Williams on to debate civil rights with George Wallace! Anyways, the video is worth a watch just for a laugh at Prager repeatedly calling Perez "Paris".

  1. “sparred of against”? WTF?
    *faced off against
    *squared off against
    *sparred with
-all acceptable. It’s one thing on a private blog or in comments, but is there a reason people who get PAID to write are no longer held to the standard of actually knowing HOW TO FUCKING WRITE?
As for the item itself… yeah… *sigh*

  2. parez blew it, so many topics he could have wasted him on except that he was solely focused on “im equal.” so if the conservative thinks that only a man and woman can raise a child what does he think about single parent households? what about divorce and remarriage? enough with “im equal” lets start hanging them by their own words.

  3. nice try, jay. perez is a boob, and will argue his points on his for-fuck-sakes approach. but the “conservative” does make some good points. I am more apt to listen to both sides and exercise restraint with those who have opposing views. our community simply wants to cry and scream all the time, rather than find solutions and compromise. and what’s left are even angrier people on both sides, and more divisiveness.

  4. Well they say the squeaky wheel gets the grease… and Perez is squeaky and greasy. :-p sorry, I know, I am supposed to be above all that, yada yada.
Seriously though, the problem is that intelligent people are often uninteresting to the general public. Figures like Barack Obama who are smart as a whip AND stylish & hip are way too rare, but that is what we really need in order to be taken seriously( maybe someone with a little more flair than the president, though, we DO have an image to protect).
Oh, and, despite my comments, Andy, I don’t want you to disappear off the face of the internet like I wish Dewitt would. I just want you to get an English tutor. And maybe history. And politics…

  5. navymuscle, all i was pointing out is how the conservatives will say whatever to cling to their views. if they say homosexuality is “against god” due to lev 18:22, i politely ask them about lev 20:9 which orders you to stone your children for disobedience. bring up the new testament and i like to ask about divorce and remarriage, or worshiping a different god. im not complaining at all, just wishing these people would follow everything, not just what they pick and choose. conservatives are always contradicting themselves-i just like exposing it. i’ll gladly listen to both sides, however.

  6. ok so the old white guy who isn’t larry king wants basically separate but equal which didnt work for the blacks so it clearly wont work for the gays. when the right 2 men or women get together i believe that they can raise the same family as a man and a woman. the child will just have a more open view of its own sexuality and wont be assumed one way or the other which will make us unstoppable. and that is what the conservatives are really afraid of. becuase some of them dont have a problem with just use
