Oscar Nominations Are In!

Some gay dudes treat the Academy Awards like the Super Bowl. I’m not one of those people, but I figured I’d post a list of this year’s nominees (so you guys can bicker and debate about who’s going to win). Frankly, the only thing I care about is that Jonah Hill doesn’t win…

  1. Jonah Hill is a douchebag and now even more with an Oscar nod. Too bad Ryan Gosling didn’t make the cut.

  2. I’m surprised Madonna and Elton John weren’t nominated in the best song category.    Their fighting would have made the show SO much more interesting.    Oh well, at least Billy Crystal is hosting.

  3. Wow… Melissa McCarthy?  She was good, and certainly Golden Globe comedy nod… but, Academy Awards nom?

  4. ok, lets get real usually in the best supporting catagory there is an unexpected winner every year, i mean Monique? she will probably never act again. I think THat since few people have won for comedy this is the new one and it will be her night, god after the emmy’s i wouldlove to see her oscar speech!

best actress, didn’t see any of them streep is odds on favorite, BUT close has been to the dance 6 times and has never never one, i think the academy will say it is her turn

  5. Is that a photo of Jean Dujardin from The Artist? I think he’s hot. You should do a Would you hit that feature with him soon.

  6. “BBLART” “im not gonna appologize cuz im not even sure which end that came out of.” Anyone who can say that line with a straight face deserve an oscar

  7. The Oscars are, for me, Christmas, the 4th of July and my birthday all rolled into one. Yeah, I know they’re ultimately rather silly, but being the über film buff/snob that I am, I LOVE the Oscars. I cried when Kathy Bates and Halle Berry won their Oscars, and I stormed out the apartment, spitting expletives, when Kate Winslet lost to Hilary Skank. Fortunately, this year there’s no movie or performance I hate that is nominated (thank the cinema gods that Leonardo DiCaprio [J. Edgar] or Kirsten Dunst [Melancholia] didn’t make the cut for their hapless yet head-scratchingly acclaimed performances).

Best Actor and Best Supporting Actress are wide open races, Best Picture appears to be between The Artist and The Descendants, Best Actress is a toss-up between Streep and Davis, and Supporting Actor is likely to go to Christopher Plummer (who plays a gay man, by the way, in Beginners).

Oh, and you should do a poll on who’s the sexiest in the Best Actor race, cuz that’s a pretty handsome lineup!

  8. It would have been handsomer if Ryan Gosling had gotten the nomination he deserved for “Drive.”
