Not Quite Obsessed With Mariah’s New Single

Obsessed, Mariah Carey
You know that guy who you invited without asking about or seeing his cock? You figured the top half was damn sexy, so the rest must have been up to par. Then he dropped his pants and there was barely anything dangling between his legs. You thought to yourself, "I really hope this one's a grower."
That's kind of how I feel about Mariah Carey's new single "Obsessed". Ever since her Emancipation, I've been rooting for Mimi to stay afloat and avoid going all Glitter-era on us. But is this response to Eminem's "Bagpipes From Baghdad" really going to help her case after four underperforming singles from E=MC2? It doesn't help that her new album has the ridiculous title Memoirs of an Imperfect Angel. Check out "Obsessed" here while the link is still hot, but you're on your own after that.

  1. 19 years into her astounding career and she can still make a pop hit that is relevant. She will get massive airplay with this hot jam and the sales will be through the roof.
Those who have negative stuff to say just end up sounding jealous and bitter. Mariah has earned respect and success with talent and hard work.

  2. Such a boring song! Guess that makes me jealous and bitter?
I bet she used her talent and worked hard while using the auto-tune as well.

  3. LET ME SAY THIS.
THIS SONG IS A #1 FOR SURE AND ALL YALL ARE OUT OF YOUR MIND
AND FOR THE MANHUNTDAILY BLOGGER THAT COMPARED THIS SONG TO A SMALL PENIS MUST HAVE ONE

  4. gotta lurve mariah. her albums never disappointed (sans glitter).
staying relevant in the music industry is not easy and she’s found a recipe for success.

  5. Wow. Mariah Carey has one of the best voices in pop history. So why is she singing something so boring, and why is she hiding her gorgeous talent behind the gimmick of the vocoder/autotune shit? Maybe this will be a huge hit for her – I wish her nothing but the best – but why not rely on her talent instead of studio FX? And why such an incredibly boring song? I am extremely disappointed (although after her ridiculously bad “Touch My Body” single, I guess I’m not surprised). First Janet Jackson proved time and time again that she would never relive her earlier successes, and now Mariah is admitting defeat herself. How sad.

  6. Oh, and I forgot, I’m jealous and bitter because – wait, I’m not jealous and bitter at all. I’m just disappointed. Mariah has done much better. I still think “We Belong Together” is one of the best written and sung songs of all time. But “Obsessed” sounds lazy and a little bit desperate. Seriously, Mariah, autotune? Are you going to feature a rap by Ja Rule on your next single? Or are you going to release something that sounds like it wasn’t made in 1997?

  7. Why do people compare 90s MAriah to today.. do you compare what you did in highschool to what you do in gradtuate school..no… Shit changes.. She does what she needs to do to keep up with the current “no talent” artists that sell records as well and I think she does it damn well… At 39 and still in the running as #1 artisit agaisnt Miley Cyrus, Jonas Brothers, Lady Gaga, Britney Spears… No matter what you cannot take away her accomplishments already, and the longevity she has over any cuurrent recording artist today…The song is a diss to an ass (Eminem).. I doubt she put this out saying, THIS IS A FOR SURE #1… its a mere reponse to an obsessed dick weed… Get over the new Mariah.. Actually listen to an album… She still has it with ballads, as well as her fanbase… give her a break and give an artisit attention that dosent have her accomplishments under their belt… give them your negative comments about there music.. they will need the publicity more than Mariah!

  8. Agree with you 100% Andrew!
Times change, styles change, people change. Madonna sounds different every other album. Britney went from her teen pop sound to a more techno oriented style to keep up with whats current.
May not be a #1, but when your Mariah w/ 19 already under your belt, 250 mill in the bank, and still cranking out hits, and being relevant after 18 years you know she’s doin’ something right!
The cover by the way is smoking hot *drools*!
    Love the song!
