With the Olympics (and Olympic boners) on our blogging minds this past summer, we read their Wikipedia pages did a lot of research on gay Olympians. I thought it was depressing that adorable and sexy Olympic diver Matthew Mitcham initially had a hellish time trying to get anyone to endorse him. You can hazard that guess. It was because he openly likes boys. He’s landed a few, but nothing like straight athletes get.
Matthew’s shot another video of him playing his beloved ukele and singing. All I can think is that he could be landing Gatorade, Nike, Speedo and the like if they watched this. He’s adorable and clean-cut and a gold medalist! Ryan Lochte probably has 3.2 million endorsement deals by now and he’s a big dummy. There is no justice in the world.

Apart from the beauty of the guy, Matthew has a brain and uses it by studying at Sydney University and can speak 4 languages, including French and some Mandarian, which came in handy when Matthew won the Gold medal in Diving at the 2008 Olympics in Beijing, China. I can recall watching Matthew been interviewed by a French TV crew who had some one standing by to translate French into English for Matthew to respond, when he turned the tables on the French TV crew by answering their questions in French – that interview was highly regarded by the French and well seen throughout France.
On the sponsorship side of the tracks, it has been hard (pardon the pun) for Matthew to score great sponsorship deals, but he’s managed to get some here in Australia who appreciate Matthew’s honest and natural presence when talking to the media.
