Manhunt Man of the Week: Bottomad, A Spanish Fellow With A Weakness For Leather Men

When cruising Manhunt in search of potential Man of the Week candidates, there are a few things I tend to look for: clear face photos is the biggest one, of course, but there has to be some other combination of factors to really catch my eye. Photos of big dicks are nice, but a big personality is also nice. Nicer, actually, since as a rule I talk to the Man of the Week and don’t sleep with the Man of the Week.

Also, the Man of the Week needs to be able to carry on a conversation in English. (This is my own flaw; ten years after college all the French and Spanish I’d learned has gone completely out the window…) Spelling mistakes here and there don’t unsettle me the way that they seem to bug some of you, but there needs to be some kind of spark: enthusiasm, or optimism, or some kind of passion.

All of which is a long-winded way of saying that bottomad is a better man than I. He lives in Madrid, but he’s learning both English and Mandarin Chinese. He’s also pretty hunky! I don’t generally get to feature Spaniards as Man of the Week, which is too bad because Madrid is a city full of hot dudes, but this guy’s trilingual profile caught my eye. (His name is Raúl, by the way.)

Hello Raúl! How’s it going? What brings you to Manhunt?

I have been using Manhunt for about 10 years. Throughout all that time I have met with very interesting guys. You know…

Are you single? I notice your profile says you’re mainly looking for friends…

Yes, currently I’m single. I’m happy. I have time to myself, and I can do what I want, but sometimes I’d like to have someone next to me.

Tell us about Madrid. What your favorite thing about it?

Madrid is a great city where you can go and always you will discover new things. I like to go around the city and take photos with my iPhone, and post them to Instagram. I also love to go for runs around the city or over El Retiro park in the center. Years ago, I was a professional athlete. I don’t run in competitions now, though I usually go for a run.

What’s your least favorite thing about Madrid?

What I like least? That we do not have a beach! In summer in Madrid, we can get near 40° Celsius [over 100 Farenheit]! Although we have any public pools around the city, and some water parks and amusement parks like Warner Bros…

Do you travel a lot? Or do you just like languages?

Yes, I love traveling. I have been many places thanks to my last jobs, flight attendant and train crew for the high speed train. I always love to go to the USA, but my favorite trip was to Japan. I recommend it to every one: great culture and the people is very kind…

Where haven’t you been that you’d like to go next?

I have never been in Australia or New Zealand, and I want to go as soon as possible.

And tell me about speaking multiple languages. I was just reading an article about how most Americans can only speak one and about how the rest of the world might accidentally be encouraging us…

Yes, well I’m Spanish, so I speak Spanish. English I have been studying for many years. I even lived in the UK to improve it. I lived in Manchester. I can also say some words in French and Italian, and I’m learning Chinese. I think it’s a culture and a language which is growing. Today there are not many people in Spain who speak Chinese, so I think it’s a good opportunity and in my job I can put it into practice.

Here’s a question I always ask people that travel a lot: what’s your favorite food?

My favorite food is cocido from Madrid. It is a stew with chickpeas and meat. I also love paella, which is from Valencia, but I also like food from the UK like Yorkshire pudding…

What kind of men are you looking for? What are your big turn-ons? Who’s the man of your dreams?

The man of my dreams will be a man without camp, a leather man. I love leather men, beards, muscles… The main thing is to make friends, meet, go to the cinema, travel… whatever arises.

Speaking of cinema, tell me your three favorite movies.

Lord of the Rings, The Color Purple, and The Impossible.

  1. …I’m curious to know how you came up with both “older” and “bear.” He’s 30, and never once said he identified as a bear.

  2. Sometimes “Bear” is seen by admirers before we see or acknowledge it themselves. He is not, however, old in any sense…and even though he may not identify or even qualify as a bear he is definitely on the more hirsute end of the spectrum.

  3. I love how people view being over 30 as some type of curse. You all get there kids….if you’re lucky ; )

  4. Because he has a beard and you can see a tiny bit of chest hair? Yeah, no. Not even close to bear.

  5. Lol. Well, he’s definitely not a twink although with that head he’s could go hairless. The other side of 30 is definitely “older” in the youth oriented gay community. With that beard, he’s more bear than hipster. I took the first comment as a compliment.

  6. I personally agree…but I was called a daddy 20 years ago by those that wished that identity upon us. In this situation it is about the fetish, right or wrong, that the viewer sees. Now if Bottomad himself had described himself as a Bear it would be a much more interesting discussion.

  7. I’m a big hairy chested stud who loves cocks and guns! The queens tell me I’m to masculine to be gay and the leather guys tell me I’m cool. I just like cock why do I have to fit into a mold?

  8. Love 30 + cubs! They fuck they suck they make Julianne fries! That is the ultimate a 30 year old with a hairy chest!—- just an old cock whore!
