Madonna: “Turn Up The Radio”

The truth of the matter is that Madonna just wants to get in her car. She wants to go fast, and she wants to go far. Don’t you dare ask her to explain how she feels! Because she doesn’t want to say where she’s going. Is that so wrong? Can she live? Will you please turn up the damn radio, so she’ll stop singing about it whilst gyrating in the back of a convertible?

This is a post about the entirely lackluster music video for Madonna’s “Turn Up The Radio”, an entirely lackluster song from her mostly lackluster album MDNA. This is the part of the post where I hide under my desk in fear that some rabid Madonna fan locates Manhunt headquarters and throws a grenade through the window for not worshipping at the Ciccone fountain of cooch juice and praising every single thing she does.

I GUESS IT JUST MEANS I’M AN AGEIST, TERRIBLE PERSON, RIGHT?

  1. I have to agree, the whole MNDA cd except for Girl Gone Wild has been pretty meh.  I kind of miss the days she was putting out trashy SEX books.

  2. Dewitt….it just means you have some taste in “music”….this gap tooth ole crone should have quit years ago.  Has she ever been on key?

  3. Wow, bad song.  Formulaic, tired, sounds like the lyrics and melody were put together by a couple 12-year-olds.    Don’t worry, there’s more of us right there with ya’ on the lack of relevance to MDNA’s new “music”.

  4. If you’re not a fan, be respectful instead of being bitchy. I’m a life long fan, but not of MDNA, I’m not a fan of Gaga but I’m still respectful of the fact that she has a huge fan base who look up to her. I feel the same way about Madonna.

  5. Nothing brings out the cattiness that talking about Madonna these days. I just wish people could talk about her with respect, but I guess that’s asking too much. I happen to think this is the best single off the album, I enjoy the video and I can’t wait to hear some of the remixes on the dancefloor. Don’t worry, Dewitt, I won’t throw a grenade in the MH window, but it would have been nice to try to be a bit more positive. “If you don’t have anything nice to say…”

  6. It’s true that MDNA was not her best album, but it is better than any of the crap that comes out of Katy Perry’s mouth or Rhi-YAWN-a’s either for that matter. All these bitchy fags have nothing better to do than go around bashing Madonna. For crying out loud, give it a rest! The album is fun, it’s fresh and is much better than you guys are giving it credit for. She looks amazing in this video. For the smartass that compared it to Instagram, it gives it a retro look, kind of comparable to her 60s style hairdo.

  7. Yeah…I like this song.  I actually quite like MDNA in general.  I don’t get the hate, but I dunno, I dont find this out of line with whats happening…I guess people are bummed that she didn’t somehow re-invent music.  She sounds distinctly like herself, I dig it.

  8. I agree with the last couple of posts. The song is GREAT, and the album is fun. It is not the cookie cutter music of Katy Perry and Rihanna who have everyone deciding everything for them. She also looks stellar in this video. That being said, I think she could of had way more fun shooting this video. Some dance sequences and maybe even throw in a beach or a water scene. The video is dull, but the song is great. For those of you who have dissed the album, take a listen to “Love Spent”, “Masterpiece”, and “I’m Addicted” before you pass judgement.

  9. The song is Ok. But this video is horrid. I will need Madonna to come up with another classic album and soon. She only does 1 per decade.

  10. very boring song, as someone said above, only decent song on the album was girls gone wild… i can respect her as an artist, however she needs to hang her sandbags up for retirement… and stop flashing them out, traumatizing everyone at her concerts …
