A wonderful reader tipped us off to more love from the hip-hop community, in the form of Macklemore and Ryan Lewis‘ “Same Love”. The song, featuring guest vocals by Mary Lambert, emerged from the artists’ partnership with the Music for Marriage Equality campaign. All proceeds from the digital release (available 7/24) and 7″ vinyl (available 7/31 via Sub Pop Records) will benefit marriage equality in Washington State.
Details aside, “Same Love” is a passionate, confessional track from yet another straight ally. The lush instrumentation and beautifully-sung chorus might even be enough to convert folks who aren’t usually fans of this genre. Take a listen above, and let us know what you think!
