Lana Del Rey: “National Anthem”

So I have to come out of the closet! There was a point where I was vehemently against Lana Del Rey. I forced myself to listen to her album Born To Die over and over again, solely to justify my opposition to her existence as a musical artist and ensure it didn’t branch from all the media “controversy” surrounding her career…

Then a weird thing happened. I started to like her.

At this point, I’m not even sure if it’s cool or uncool to enjoy Lana Del Rey’s music or overall persona. But quite frankly? I’m not a person who’s concerned with what’s “cool”. She intrigues me in some way, shape or form, and that’s all that really matters.

Here’s Lana’s latest video for “National Anthem”. Though it’s way longer than I care for, you could pause this video at nearly any moment and the frame would be beautiful. It also doesn’t hurt that it’s set to her debut’s most obvious standout track…

  1. How can anyone not like it? Every song on her album is interesting. It’s because so many people just like songs on the radio. She’s original and different.

  2. i can’t figure out if she reminds me more of pam from true blood, or a young karen black.

  3. Disturbing cant take your eyes off it song is off the hook, repulsed or not, lady gaga just got upstaged lol
