Lady Gaga On American Idol

Gaga idol

Did anyone catch Lady Gaga's performance on American Idol last night? I thought it was pretty good and definitely better than any of the actual Idol contestants…

I'm not too crazy about this single but it was definitely a good performance and anyone who can bring men in girdles to the American Idol stage is doing something right.

  1. it was not the best for me. the song does not really show off her vocal talent at all plus it is just meh to begin with. the actual performance was worth watching i just wished it had a different song to it.

  2. Watching the show, my partner and I both said to each other – look the guys are dancing together and the cameras are angling closer and closer to Lady Gaga’s face to make sure you don’t see the male to male dancing and touching.
WTF? Don’t Idol money people know the next generation is not homophobic; they are an accepting crowd AND aren’t they the ideal demographic that spends money???

  3. nowliveit, I respectfully disagree. I saw the camera focusin on the star, not the incidental background dancers. Sure, they’re hot eyecandy, but it’s ‘Lady Ga Ga’, not ‘Some hot dudes dancing’ (although that’s certainly a nice part of the show).

  4. DAK u r totally wrong
    and nowliveit is pretty right.
as soon as the guys in the background start dancing together, the camera completely shifts onto gaga and her partner trying really hard to not show anything that’s going on in the background.
also, not many seem to have noticed, but the part where the ‘action’ starts ~3:20, there is a huge cut. they cut a big chunk of the song. all u gaga fanboys didn’t notice?
that’s the part where the guys dance together.
    there’s a little conspiracy for u.

  5. It was very obvious to me that Fox did their best to hide the dancers in the background. I immediately noticed them zooming in closer and closer on Lady Gaga’s face so none of the action behind her could be seen. Very disappointing from the network that brings us The Simpsons and Family Guy.
I had to check out the Idol chat board after the show and all the so-called family value posters were livid with the show.

  6. Those dancers were gorgeous with great bods. Not really a fan of the single, but it was a decent performance. The first part of the performance was hard to hear because she was wearing that vail over her face.
Of her songs, paparazzi is my favourite song that i’ve heard from her so far…

  7. Fucking love Alejandro.
The Fame Monster will never get old, and neither will Gaga.
    Fucking fierce bitch. <3

  8. I thought it was pretty lame…so over the top that it was a caricature of itself, and there are so many humorous imitations of the whole Gaga trip, she pretty much already has become a caricature of herself. The black netting wrapped around her and the black lace underwear and the huge black hat…ridiculous! Miught have been an OK outfit if she was going to some mosquito-infested jungle, but for a song called “Alejandro”? Why? And all the songs are starting to sound alike, aren’t they? I wonder if she really has any longevity as an artist or whether in a few years we’ll be saying “Lady Who?”

  9. They did cut out a huge chunk. Oh Fox. Trying so hard to be conservative, yet your most popular shows are Family Guy, The Simpsons and Glee.
Anyways this wasn’t a great performance. I’m not a huge fan of the song but on her tour she did a great performance of this song.
And @Jimmy T. Lady GaGa knows how to sell music. You might think all her songs sound the same but that’s how most artists make a living. Look at Nickelback, Britney Spears and Black Eyed Peas. There’s nothing remotely original about any of them and they all sell millions. GaGa is still growing I think she’s going to do great things. Maybe it’ll go like Kelly Clarkson. She’ll make an album of the stuff she really likes and the record label won’t promote and it won’t do as well. We’ll just have to wait and see what happens with her. But I don’t think we’ll ever be saying “Lady who?”

  10. I just love how she continuously re-invents songs. Loved the intro and loved this performance as much as I probably could a live performance previously recorded of this song 🙂

  11. that… was… terrible… ABsoLUTEly dreadful. what happened to a chorus? remember when words used to be strung together to make lyrics and there was a catchy chorus? repeating the same thing over and over again does not a good song make.

  12. @Jimbo: preach it, sister.
Alejandro is the first song I fell in love with from The Fame Monster after Teeth. It shows how she was vulnerable for awhile but then she grew her tough outer shell.
I thought it was beautiful and she did an amazing job. And not all singers can sing fucking amazingly every single time they perform. Sometimes there are just off performances.
And it gave me some new dance moves to learn 😀

  13. Take that horseface cunt to the pasture and blow her fucking head off. That was the worst song/performance ever and she needs to be put out of my mysery.

  14. I think the song as recorded is amazing..very well done. The performance on Idol? Very underwhelming. It doesn’t show off her pipes the way the recorded version does and the music was just off.

  15. She posted the unedited version on twitter, she wasn’t happy about the editing fox did.

  16. Y’all are reaching that fox cut away from her. You could still see what was going on behind her with the gay dancers.
