Is Digg’s “Homo” Censorship For Us or Against Us?

Homo Erectus

News sharing site Digg is being put on spot after the word "homo" was replaced by four asterisks. The context? An article about our extinct relatives homo erectus. Some are quick to assume this is a homophobic action, given Digg's straight dorky boys' club demographic. But is it possible that they automatically censor the word so people don't immaturely call one another homos? The world may never know (until the Internet tells us).
