By now, you've probably already heard about "Balloon Boy", the six year-old child who was thought to have floated off on a saucer-like balloon. You've also probably heard that they found him in the family's attic. But have you seen the video where the so-called Balloon Boy tells his parents, "You guys said that we did this for the show"?
The same Americans who were previously worried sick for this boy's life are now shouting, "Hoax! Hoax!" Among all the controversy, the father continues to claim that it wasn't a hoax, insisting that his son misinterpreted the reporter's question.
Perhaps I have no heart, but I still don't get why any of this is news in the first place. After they found the kid in the attic, this story should have been dead. While I have my fingers crossed that this is the news-channel equivalent of a twenty-four hour virus, I highly doubt this family will let it die that quickly. I mean, you've also probably heard that they were on Wife Swap. Twice.
UPDATE: So much for this not being a hoax. If you're going to lie, why the hell would you make a home movie that proves you're lying?
