Icona Pop‘s “I Love It” is the brat pop song of the century. It’s as loud and obnoxious as your standard mindless party track by Ke$ha or Katy Perry, yet the overall energy is more akin to Le Tigre or any variety of bad-ass ’80s girl groups. It shouldn’t work… But it does.
Make sure you’ve had your morning coffee before giving this a spin. Better yet, wait until you’re ready to go out for the weekend, and you need that perfect “pump me up” song to get you ready for a night of debauchery. You will never find a better “pump me up” song than this. Never.*
