The state of Washington is paying $300,000 to a man who lost his penis to flesh-eating bacteria while in prison. A doctor misdiagnosed his condition as a mere allergy, and he ended up losing his pork and half his beans.
After lawyer fees, he'll only have about 100k. Talk about a rip-off! Granted, the guy was 61 so he wasn't in his sexual prime, but this is severe malpractice. I bet if he weren't being treated in jail, the doctor would've run more comprehensive tests to determine his condition. The man, who was serving just a year sentence for a drunken brawl, said he would've appealed the decision in hopes of getting a bigger award, but it was too expensive to continue his legal battle.
This does bring up a unique point, however. When you're thinking about money woes or wishing you had more, consider that you are literally worth millions and millions. I mean, if someone offered you $500,000 for an ear, eye or *shiver* a nut, would you trade the body part for dough? I tend to doubt it.
