“Move In The Right Direction” is the undeniable standout track on Gossip‘s fifth studio album A Joyful Noise. While it’s not necessarily lead singer Beth Ditto‘s strongest vocal performance, she still puts in enough chops to keep this inspirational dance jam moving in, well, the right direction.
Plus, and perhaps most importantly, this song is just so much damn fun.

They were on David Letterman last night singing that track and it was pretty good. Its definitely not what she looks like she would sing but it was interesting and soulful and I actually enjoyed some of the music you suggested. Score one for Dewitt

I kind of agree. I fell in love with them on the True Colors tour back in 2007 because they had an element of punk infused with their sound. That seems to have completely disappeared and they’ve headed str8 to the club. It’s not bad but a little sad.
