We’re sure some of you Gleeks out there are sobbing into your Starbucks this morning with the news that Glee has expelled Chord Overstreet from McKinley High. It’s certainly not because he was an integral part of the story. It’s more likely because he’s fuckworthy, with a kickass body, floppy blonde hair and big dick-sucking lips. Santana referred to him as “Trouty Mouth” for a reason. Are you going to miss Chord’s “Sam” character? Did you even know his character had a name? He was lucky to have one line an episode.
Survey says that they just hired him because they knew they were going to need a hot Rocky in short shorts for the Halloween episode.

IIRC, Overstreet was originally hired to be Kurt’s boyfriend, but Chris Colfer had told the producers of the show that he didn’t want Kurt to have some unrealistically superhot guy being attracted to Kurt — and Overstreet was not a realistic boyfriend for Kurt. As a result, Overstreet’s part was restructured, Darren Criss was brought in to be a more realistic bf for Kurt, and Overstreet was let go at the end of one season.
How is Blaine more realistic? He’s very attractive too and is basically just meant to be perfect for Kurt.

wrestle, I’d hear he was brought in to be Kurt’s boyfriend as well, but when they paired him with Quinn for the duet episode in season 2, they saw the chemistry Dianna Agron and he had together, and they paired him up with Quinn.
I knew the writing was on the wall when I heard that if the winner of “The Glee’s Project” was a male, he’d probably be a dating interest for Mercedes, despite the fact at the end of last season she was holding hands with Sam.

They fired him because they want money. thats why Darren Criss, who was supposed to be a two episode character, is now a season regular. They dont care about the story line anymore. More money for RIB i guess.

I cannot believe I am actually writing this, but it sounds as if Mr. Overstreet’s days are not numbered, just that he isn’t a series regular — like Darren Criss wasn’t when he started. He’s now been bumped up to a regular as has the asian guy, but Overstreet is written into the show for next season. The fact is Mr. Overstreet has to decide whether he wants to come back as a recurring character next year or be disappointed that he isn’t a series regular and walk away…. I personally like the trouty mouth.
Well after viewing the ” Bieberesque” Number a couple of Glee episodes ago, I’m not sure why he isn’t featured more> Good Looks – Good Singer – I’d Buy his cd, dvd, picture book for the teenage girls or porn if he ever did… whatever ! lol I’m sure if they don’t make him a regular he’ll get work…..as something…..trout farmer ??? Besides the obvious eye-candy appeal (hello, did you SEE those scenes of him strutting around the locker room in his towel?!?), Sam was one of the few fleshed-out characters from a writing standpoint. So much storyline potential–his family’s economic troubles, his dyslexia, his hot body/awkward social skills dichotomy–all of it wasted.
I”m extremely disappointed with how quickly this show jumped the shark. I’m gonna give it 1 or maybe 2 episodes in the fall. But if it’s more of the asinine Finn/Rachel on again, off again; Mr. Schue’s internal struggles with how he’s wasting his life teaching these kids but there’s really no where else he’d rather be; Mercedes gets her one sassy black diva comment per episode crap, I’m done.
i love his mouth. I love his body. really theres nothing to NOT like. Disappointed he won’t feature as much as he does now even next season… but even as background eye candy, he’s still hot.
I reckon it’s weird timing considering we were left with the visual of Sam and Mercedes keeping their relationship a secret at the end of the finale. Mercedes deserves some happiness, dammit! I was really looking forward to her having all the bragging rights haha. It was such an unlikely pairing, and that’s what I loved the most.
And I’m going to miss the eye candy… 😛
