ITEM – Beastie Boys are rad. Beastie Boys have always been rad. It was announced today that Adam Yauch (aka MCA) passed away after battling cancer. He was 47. Yauch announced he had cancer in 2009, and has been in treatment since.
The band was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall Of Fame this year. Yauch was too ill to make the ceremony, but bandmates Michael Diamond (Mike D) and Adam Horovitz (Ad-Rock) read a letter he had written:
“I’d like to dedicate this to my brothers Adam and Mike,” he wrote. “They walked the globe with me. It’s also for anyone who has ever been touched by our band. This induction is as much ours as it is yours.”
The Beasties were seminal (this is Manhunt, I know, but I’m avoiding the jizz joke) artists in the hip-hop world, and….fuck, MCA’s dead. And Katy Perry’s alive. Ugh. Rest in peace, Mr. Yauch. Thank you for your contribution.
I’m sure Dewitt and I aren’t the only homos who like the Beastie Boys.

ITEM – NOTHING has fallen off for Shemar Moore. The TV star and hot body oddy oddy was recently snapped on Miami Beach. He was on The Young & The Restless for many years and then left for primetime and it’s obvious why soap operas are dying. He left! Jaunty hat, jaunty nipples, jaunty abs. Also, I’m glad they are rebooting the Spidey movies. I can’t be the only one who felt that time has not been kind to the Raimi films. Sure, they seemed good at the time, but the more you look back, the more holes those films had. Serious holes.

MCA is dead. Katy Perry’s alive. I think the way you chose to celebrate MCA by putting down Katy Perry really does nothing for the memory of this artist. He is no more deserving than anyone to be in this planet, we are all human spirits, we all have a purpose. Yes, even Katy Perry. It must be a generational thing as well, I didn’t even know who he was until his death was announced.
