From Beginning to End, Brazilian Movie Is Sure to Stir Controversy

Perhaps set to become one of the most controversial films to come out of Brazilian cinema, a trailer for From Beginning to End, a movie about two brother's incestuous love affair, has hit the web–and it's worth a peek.

While the topic might seem slightly off putting, the film comes from acclaimed director Aluizio Abranches. As an added bonus, the actors who play the adult brothers are very hot! Too bad I'll feel naughty for enjoying the sex scenes…

Do you think this is a subject best left alone or are you eager (like me) to watch the film? Unfortunately no release date has been set.

  1. I guess I’m confused by the concept – it’s an incestuous based movie, which is wrong on sooooooooooo many levels. Are they trying to show that there are psychological issues with these two men? I guess I really just don’t understand at all.

  2. I think the idea is simply unique.
its only controversial to those who don’t understand complex film making, this idea is strange yet natural, and shamed upon by society, two extreme norms of love.
I will be seeing it for sure.

  3. You know the older I get the less I am concerned what society thinks. Love is Love we all need it, no matter where or who it comes from.

  4. I really like how the set up of the film is.
The entire preview kept getting my attention with each and every scene.
Im really curious to see how this will all turn out and hopefully it doesnt come off in an incest way but as a love story.

  5. Great cinematography, just hope it doesn’t portray an incestual love story. Sure you can say love is love, but you should never “love” your brother like that. I have three brothers myself, and that is just gross.

  6. I had sex with my brother and it was great. Seemed natural.
We are both gay. No side effects.
    Chill !

  7. So…surprse!! We’re animals. Animals within families mate with one another. Some have formed monogamous pairs.
    Yet we shun this?
I’m not saying that we all need to go out and marry our siblings, but if it feels right, and it’s natural…let it be.
Animals have survived for far longer on this planet than we have; we’re just trying to dominate and change EVERY fucking rule.
We all complain that we want equal rights. Equal marriage. Equal love…how is this no different?

  8. no im really hard too, they are gorgeous. however incest is wrong… i know us gays cant mate naturally with other men, but the crossing of sibling genes is really dangerous for offspring

  9. I know two gay brothers who… Well actually I don’t know one very well, but they are both definitely gay, and the one I know claims he fucks the other one occasionally.
Without possibility of pregnancy it does not bother me unless one family member is clearly taking advantage.

  10. But two guys can’t possibly cross genes. Not even ‘unnaturally’. There’s no way gay/lesbian incest will result in offspring with ‘deffective’ genes and… Well, if it generated, what about it? There’s a school for special children in front of my home. They’re beautiful and maybe they need special care, but if the parents are willing to give them love, what about it?
Those children we claim to be generated by an ‘error’ are and will always be more perfect than any bigoted asshole that was generated form a ‘normal’ couple. The majority of those homophobes, the gay bashers came from an ‘ideal’ family with ‘values’ and ‘morals’. I’d rather have a child with special needs with the brother I actually don’t have than be the mother of an ignorant basher.

  11. Very artistic looking film; I wonder if it could get made here without invoking the wrath of the Religious Right the way Brokeback Mountain did.

  12. it’s more an artistic representation. it doesn’t need to be a core basis of moral conduct of life… if you want that go read a bible.
this is just a movie, if you’re going to stem any more hatred into the argument you have no place in critiquing the motives of the writers.

  13. For the naysayers on the blog – if you paid close attention to the preview you will learn early on that the brothers are not biological, but brothers through marriage. So, if that makes the concept less gross, so be it.
But, the film is intriguing and i get the sense there is a deeper meaning behind it. its not simply a love story, but a story attempting to be told about a taboo subject. If it was simply a love story then why the drama with the parents in the beginning to set up the rest of the film.
This could be a huge movie and critically acclaimed at that.

  14. When i first saw the trailer, it creeped me out a little bit. Actually a lot. But then I started thinking about it.
Being gay is considered “not normal” or “not acceptable” or “morally wrong”, in most parts of the world, so who am I to say that the love shown in the movie is wrong. Love just happens, doesn’t it?
If their being in love is creepy then isn’t my love for another man too?
I am in no way defending or justifying or advocating an incestuous relationship. I’m just asking if any homosexual relationship is equally as bad as the relationship shown in the movie??

  16. To Daniel:
They are half-brothers, same mother, different fathers. So they are still biologically related, and raised together as brothers.
I suspect this was chosen to soften the whole “brothers” taboo a little bit.
Can’t wait for it to come out on DVD sometime next year so I can see it.
