Drawn To You: Dale Lazarov

Comic book writers don’t get enough credit. Okay, so maybe that’s a bold (and potentially misguided) statement to make, but I get the impression that mainstream readers have a tendency to take the storyline for granted. It’s always about the artist! Art, art, art!

It recently came to my attention that we’ve never written about Dale Lazarov in our Drawn To You series. This seemed pretty fucking ridiculous, considering he’s one of the most well-known names in the world of gay erotica. In his profile for Prism Comics, Dale mentions that his dream is to become the “Stan Lee of a line of chic hardcovers of gay comics filth full of carnality and sweetness”. And he’s well on his way to getting there!

  1. extremely hot!!!
sometimes it so much hotter reading comics than watching the real thing… the figment of imagination of the artist and your own imagination tingles what’s down there!!!

  2. Nothing I’m “drawn” to, past, present, or future, but still better than most of the crappy drawings that are posted here. At least there is a (very, very) vague story line trying to get out, kinda!

  3. Well, these are sample pages from 80-page collections of gay erotic comics so you can’t really get that these are actual narratives and not just series of pin-ups.

We try to do 1 page of narrative for every 2 pages of sex and have the sex reveal character and develop narrative as well. 🙂

  4.  Thanks for clearing that up, Dale! I probably should have mentioned in the original post that these are only a small sampling of your incredible body of work.

you’re definitely putting some thoughts into my head, mr. lazarov!

and i do love your illustration style(s), by the way — it’s not one that i come across, very often.
