There are Homecoming Queens and there are Drag Queens, but those are usually two exclusive titles. But Ryan Allen AKA Reann Ballslle was crowned Homecoming Queen at George Mason University.
I think his win is a testament to tolerance but also to a healthy sense of humor. Allen, who performs at various gay clubs around Virginia, entered the competition on a lark but defeated two female finalists for the honor.
Allen said, "When they said
'Ms. Mason 2009 is Reann Ballslee,' the crowd went wild. It was one of
the best feelings I've felt in a long time. I had so many friends
supporting me."
