Weirdly captivating.

I’m still not completely sure what to make of this arty new arm of porno mega-aggregate Naked Sword. I wrote about it a little here, but I’m waiting to see how they run this a bit before I decide if it’s something special.

This most recent release, though, has my hopes high. Doors Cut Down is a short film from 2000, directed by Antonio Hens and starring a very young looking Israel Rodríguez as a teenager who can’t get enough mall bathroom sex. The title refers to a practice of shortening doors on public restroom stalls to prevent exactly the kind of action Israel’s Guillermo engages in here. And as someone who used to be a teenager who engaged in some mall bathroom sex (I worked all through high school at a coffee shop in my local mall which had full length doors until the day they tore it down), there’s a very genuine level of tension and – I’m not sure what to call the feeling this kind of behavior often registers as – a mix of fear and being turned on and repulsed and wanted all sort of simultaneously – that the film manages to evoke even with a brisk 18 minute runtime. It’s a curious look at what was probably a way more common practice before phones let you just select people and demand they come over the way kids now can.  I dunno. I really liked this short film and I think you might too. But if you don’t, you can just pop right over to Naked Sword’s 18,000+ title library (because NSFW and all of their curated films are included with your Naked Sword membership) and choose almost anything else.
