first, a question- what is a “reaction”, and why when I click on the word does it just take me back to the page without any difference that I can see?
Now, as far as the subject of this “Daily”- the only way that this sort of thing will work is if the couple is open and honest from the very beginning, and at no time tries to keep anything from the other. My spouse and I have had this kind of relationship since we began dating in 2005, and we just celebrated our 6th wedding anniversary last month, and are embarking on a whole new part of this fabulous ride as my spouse is taking on a “boy” who will be living with us as of next May. I like the boy, he likes me, it seems a good fit- oh, and, I also have a “long-distance” boy of my own, over 3,000 miles away, who I hope to meet in person very soon. My former spouse, with whom I was partnered for 18 years before we married, was at first willing to explore the whole idea of an open relationship, but he developed insane jealousy in the 3rd year of our journey, reacting very badly whenever anyone would even say hello to me if we were out. So, I have experienced both sides, and know that it works for some, but not for all. If one of the partners is insecure enough to see a breakup coming after every encounter between his spouse and a third person, then it is doomed before it gets a chance.

If having a 3-way breaks up a relationship, I’m pretty sure it’s not the 3-way that did it but rather the emotional baggage from the relationship that surfaced during it. It’s always about someone being jealous…and that’s never a desirable quality in a partner. None of us want to feel smothered or controlled…or feel that we have to give up the life we have and enjoy to become partnered. If you do it correctly, you really can have it all. I’m proof of that.
